Now That's What I Call Transfer Rumours! 7

Pay them a fee for sure and yeah maybe a slice of the transfer fee but a percentage of their wages across the whole contract. That feels way too much and more than a little parasitic.

They do more than just a transfer though. They'll negotiate all the other endorsements, sponsorships etc and handle all the contacts behind the clubs back.

A lot of agents do a lot more than just rock up a week before a transfer window opens to chuck demands around tbf

Has no one watched Goal!? :)

Daily Mail saying we have been offered Joao Felix on loan.

Not much else in the article so won’t post the link.

ESPN just sent me a notification about our interest in him, but it’s referencing The Sun.

£4-5m signing on fee and £90-100k a week and I'd have had him here as a bit of creativity alongside Bruno or when he's out. £9m and probably £150k a week though is a bit much. Still think he'll do well next club.

Would he be worth a punt if we only had to contribute £100k a week towards his wage?

I've seen clubs covering other club's wages a few times in the past few days. Does this actually ever happen (loans not withstanding)?

I’m sure we have - the pif don’t get to be worth as much as they are without learning how to deal with money grabbing businessmen.

Huge natural oil and gas reserves probably have more to do with it than superb business acumen tbf

Maybe one allows you to employ the other ?

I honestly don’t give a shit about the money aspect at the end of the day. Players have their worth based on pitch performance, consistency and results back the compensation.

Tielemans doesn’t control games. He doesn’t set the tempo (anymore). He doesn’t take over games. He’s a good player when you’re doing well. He doesn’t drag a team up or improve them in immeasurable ways. He’s not our Bruno. He’s not our Joelinton.

No Gabri Viega thread yet ?

Just had a look at his videos and everything about the way he plays reminds me so much of Bruno. Looks like a good player.

Edit: a cross between Bruno and Almiron. 70% Bruno and 30% Almiron.

If this happens I think it confirms that EH is trying to build the most tenacious squad in the history of football.

I respectfully disagree. He’s an unreal talent. He was on the list of potential targets the first time around before he went to City. Extremely versatile player. Sign him the fuck up.

Interesting.

See what you said is also one of my concerns. We already have a few 'versatile' players. Give me specialists now. Give me players that are in the conversation for top 10 in the world. That's how you match City.

As said before you need to be careful with higher end free transfers as players expect a sign on fee and generally higher wages as the club have saved on a fee.

Big risk of ending up with someone you can shift if they are underwhelming as their wages are above market rate. Ramsey at Juve being a great example of that.

A very odd comment given the likes of Bernardo, Alvarez, Stones, Walker and de Bruyne have all been asked to play multiple different positions under Pep and excelled there [emoji38]

Man Utd get Mount
Liverpool get Mac Allister

Arsenal get Rice

Man City get Kovacic

Chelsea get Ugarte

We get McTominay.

If Man City get Kovacic then I think we'll be in for Philips

Man City are always a bit tight around the homegrown quota. Unless I’m missing someone they have:

Carson

Walker

Stones

Phillips

Lewis

Grealish

Foden

Palmer

*not sure whether some of them even count due to age

So unless they have another kid ready to step up, they would have to be buying a homegrown replacement if any of the above were sold
