Dokko
£100m they've spent on it, produced one good player who left at the first chance he could to go to Madrid. (semi-serious btw) Ours is woeful mind, but think the kids don't need pampering like the way citeh do. Thry need to know thryve not made it yet. £100M which will pay for itself in the next 15-20 years. It's already been 10. A lot of money just on facilities, not including wages of players and staff to run it over that time and so far little return for them (we've probably received more in that time down to Andy Carroll) . The amount they've spent is not needed to produce top players. It's a lottery and if you buy more tickets your chance is higher, but still no certainly you'll win. Look at Chelsea and the players that have come through their academy in recent years. Abraham Hudson-Odoi Loftus-Cheek Would fetch £60m in one go, easy. North_shields_lad
Don’t know if this is the correct thread. However if this is true it’s a worry. It means the champions league games will be played on a weekend. The tv contracts will be changed. Now imagine Newcastle v Brighton at 5.30 on a Saturday night while Barcelona v Manchester City is on another channel. In effect the teams in the champions league will get huge amounts of money as this is aimed at the American and Asian market. The money for tv rights for the premiership will be hughgly reduced. Won't happen. FA's and league's won't allow it.
The College Dropout
That's a death toll to domestic football. No way the FA or even FIFA allow it to happen. Best way for it to happen (for UEFA), would be to slowly introduce it. The final is now on Saturday. Next maybe the semi's.
