So Ashley is a Saint, keeping us out of those pesky Wembley games so we don't have to spend our money on that there London, I'm so grateful.

Turns out fans don’t have unlimited money, who knew?

It will be Man City's 3rd time back in Wembley this season where I imagine tickets are not cheap. Also London is fucking expensive.

Will be their 4th time cause there was the community shield as well.

In 8 days they play Brighton in the FA Cup at Wembley, Spurs Away & Palace Away

Fucking Man City fans want to be ashamed of themselves.

Same as most big clubs around europe at this point.  Easy win against some shite near the bottom/middle? Can't be arsed to go.  It's the same at Real & Barca for sure

Yeap.  Atletico's attendance was 25k down on previous home game last night.

All this demonstrates is the true size of Man City’s support really and not their financial status, loyalty, passion or anything else which could be used to explain empty seats on matchdays and unsold Wembley tickets. But there is actually nothing to explain.

The reality is that Man City have simply reached a level of critical mass in terms of the size of their following that success just can’t help increase the figure any higher than its at. Success can only really sustain current levels which would decrease without any.

None of that means Man City aren’t a well supported club of course, because they are and always have been. If anything empty seats and unsold Wembley tickets reflects well on their supportters, the only part of the club that isnt artificial.

With success it will increase with time as young people all over the world will be starting to support them because of the football they play and their favorite/inspirational players playing there. Maybe they've met a temporary threshold but to say the only way they can go from here is down is just stupid

Did that "critical IT failure" cause the players not to get paid, and go on strike?

Of-course not.  They've got no money, so likely haven't paid bills to whoever supports their stadium/ticketing.

Looks very very bleak for them.

Do you think Man City will fill a 60k stadium/capacity? The are a small club, similar to Chelsea. They just don’t have the size of following in numbers who would go to the match every week. Although if Man Utd don’t win anything soon maybe a few of their day trippers will swap over...
