Tbf most of the ones under that tweet are those weird cunts from places with zero connection to Liverpool but support them because they’re good, they’ve all got their own fucking weird code words like ‘finished’ and other shite which just sets off the wanker alert. I’d call them glory seekers, but fucking sad cases seems more apt.
Kid Icarus
I'd love for our fanbase to be more like that tbh. Politically yes, but also just in our attitude towards OUR football club - we all saw the arguments a lot of our fans resorted to to avoid any kind of rebellion towards Ashley. Essentially turning non-action and lining Ashley's pockets into a form of rebellion in itself.

Kind of "don't want to but it's the natural way for things to go so aye" type shite. Their general reaction to the neoliberal template for the super league hardly screamed socialism engrained in the club's fabric.
Kid Icarus
So then it's weird that John Henry came out with an apology video? I didn't check their forums and honestly I've come to the conclusion that Twitter counts for nothing at all, but I do remember some talksports callers saying they'd stop supporting Liverpool, their podcasters being against it, and there being protests, so I'm not totally convinced like. Superior Acuña
I reckon the number that would boo God Save The Queen is probably just a handful really. I'd be surprised if more than a couple of k, absolute tops. Totally agree with KI about our fanbase.

I'm pretty much the same tbh but from a Newcastle/Geordie perspective. I’d go further and say that Newcastle winning a corner excites me more than England winning a game. And I’m lost at the thought of anyone who’d select England winning a trophy rather than Newcastle. Utterly lost.
TheBrownBottle
The Thatcher govt’s ‘manager decline’ and the actions of subsequent administrations are reason enough for the good people of Liverpool to hate the Tories at least, and certainly distrust the institutions of state. 1 hour ago, Super Duper Branko Strupar said: Their general reaction to the neoliberal template for the super league hardly screamed socialism engrained in the club's fabric. Not the ones I know personally, they were dead set against it. I’ve said it before, but we can’t take what people write on message boards and social media as the general opinion of a fanbase or a society. If you read that thread on RTG we are all murdering terrorist scum, if you read the thread about us on RAWK it’s the same. In the real world away from the vacuum that is the Internet, most people couldn’t care less about NUFC, mackems included, those who are fans of other clubs, generally do have good things to say about us as fans and as a club and most NUFC fans I know, although they love their club, are uneasy about who own us. Since the Queen passed the people I’ve spoken to who are mostly anti royal and monarchy have said nice things about her and that she was good for the country. As ever in the online world it’s either black or white, no pun intended. Getting back to the whole Ashley Out thing, we also have to realise that as anti Ashley as we were on here, many fans don’t even use the Internet in the way we do and so weren’t involved in that whole discussion and many couldn’t have cared less offline, to them it’s their team, they paid for a ST, they will go to the game, and try and enjoy it, Ashley or not, Pardew or not, Bruce or not. We also have to accept that clubs like Liverpool have a majority fanbase that are not from Liverpool and for many sport is sheer entertainment, about success and winning, and the idea of ‘their team’ in a European Super League will no doubt have been massively appealing to them. Again true LFC fans I know were dead against it and always will be and I guarantee the ones I know, had LFC joined such a league, would have turned their backs on supporting their club. The entire concept of the ESL was to exploit the global market. Liverpool playing half their matches in another country doesn't benefit their home fanbase in any way. In fact, if we ever get a ESL I doubt you'll see many scousers ever asked their opinion again. TV will focus on the g;obal fan who have read all they need to know about the club, in the ESL promotional literature.
Guest HTT II
Such ‘fans’, if LFC didn’t participate would just go and support another club. I love my fellow brothers and sisters from Africa for example, but some have went from supporting Man Utd, LFC, Arsenal and Chelsea in the space of a decade or so since I’ve known them. Some have now converted to NUFC, but that’s mainly down to me and even then if we don’t start winning, it’s back to Chelsea or whoever. If LFC polled it’s world-wide fanbase on whether to join an ESL, the vast majority would vote yes la. A minority of local based, Scouse of heritage fans would object and kick-off, but it’s going to happen one day, guaranteed!

I'm not diissing the fans, they often have no attachment to the club, beyond their initial choice. And they're at liberty to recognise they made a mistake by picking Chelsea. It's an emerging market.
