I love analysis like that surely we can get a new breed of clever pundits that use information like this to analyse games instead of the muppets that don't even closely follow the game.

You may as well not bother watching the TV analysis if you want to know anything about the game. It’s a farce.

I honestly think it's getting worse, Sky letting Carra and Neville commentate on Liverpool and Man U is a joke as well, when Allison scored the day you could here Carra cheering

Sort of been mentioning it in the Steve Bruce thread, but 59 points for 10th place is something else. Normally high 40s gets you top half. 31 points between top half and the relegation zone is massive.

It really is...59 points normally represents a challenge for the top 4

Less points won at the top and bottom of the league has meant more to go around in the "middle", innit.

Although I'd point out that Man City's total is about normal for PL winners, it's the last few years that have been abnormal with 2 teams getting towards 100 points.

Yeah, a top 6 prone to shitting the bed, an appalling bottom three and a pretty dismal 12th-17th has meant there's been shitloads of points available to the top half sides. Leeds did the double over us, Southampton and Burnley, for instance, and took 14 points from the so-called 'big six'. Villa took 19 off ManU, Leicester, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Just watching the goals of the season on match of the day, and they were very good obviously but not the strongest year imo.

It's much easier for teams to score by just getting in the box and find the slightest contact and go down and get a penalty rather than scoring a worldie. Nee point taking speculative shots from 30 yards when you can just dive and get a penalty instead. Thanks VAR.

In boxing etc, do they not get a title if they defend the belt? So in this, the reigning champions would get another title every time they win a game?

I have no idea, just feels like the reigning champion haven't got anything to gain by winning a game

Not an additional one, no.

Unless the challenger puts up a belt from another organisation.
