Alexander Isak: has a chance to play against Everton (Howe)

Recommended Posts

He 100% can not start against West Ham IMO. I know people will say we have to take each game as it comes etc, but it’s clear Isak needs a rest and probably has 75  mins in him at best right now, and we need him for the full 90 against Liverpool. Even to the point of maybe ET because of his pens.

So for me, he needs a full rest.

The game is a week away?

And Liverpool game is like 5 days after. We’re not good at giving players a rest when they clearly need it, and this is a prime case. Got two back up strikers now, so rotation is needed.

I said we should’ve rested Gordon against Liverpool, but nope that was frowned upon. Little point having squad players if we don’t use them, even if the ability is a drop at times. Freshness goes a long way at this point in season.

Just looked, and Birmingham is only game he’s not started this season when available. Across all comps, he’s started every game going. Which he’s had too because Wilson been fucked and Osula not trusted, but that’s got to change now Wilson is back or Osula giving more trust after 7 months training.

But we cant afford to rest Isak, we looked utterly toothless when he went off yesterday. He's got a full weeks rest now which will do him the World of good then another  5 full days before the final.

Unless he's injured he has to start, if we're winning then bring him off.

Agree with Gordon and Liverpool though, that seemed the perfect opportunity to give some a rest.

Hard to decide whether to rest anyone for the final, the chance of winning are low anyway but basically zero without Isak.

Three points against West Ham could easily turn out to be more important than the cup final, as sad as that is.

Isak is never going to say that even if he's thinking it

Even if he did, the Newcastle journalists would corroborate it, and the mainstream media would be wanking themselves into the Summer transfer window with that news.

Story in todays Chronic about some burglars in court, and one of the properties was Isak's house in Darras.

Might have missed it, but didn't know his home had been burgled too, as well as Joelintons (on more than one occassion).

Absolute scumbags.

Seeing reports of PSG offering Kolo Muani, Asensio and Gonçalo Ramos for Isak

Dont believe it personally but I wouldn’t be against it on the right terms i.e. plus £50m and heavily subsidised wages - would really strengthen the squad and allow us to strengthen further

Rather take the cash rather than players if it ever came about, 150m for him, would give us around £450m to spend if thought orocess correct on ffp/ amortisation.

We can't afford those PSG wages.

Lots of rumours flying around that he’s out for the final. Would usually just say it’s itk nonsense but with our luck at the moment it’s probably true.

Wouldn't be surprised, regardless of if he is going to be out, he clearly isn't fully fit so there's an issue there.
