Whether Eddie has decided it makes sense to leave Isak at home given what is going on, or whether Isak has kind of refused to travel, it stinks. Eddie wouldn't have done that willingly, and it does make me feel a bit differently towards Isak.

The timing is just horrific. As if our transfer window wasn't bad enough as it is, we now have this to deal with at such a late stage. It's a crap situation and we're right in the mire now.

It's unbelievable really.

Guy is likely about to break the British record for a transfer and set the club up to take the next step forward.

It just is what it is. It's not ideal, but just part of the process as things are currently setup.

He's just hit a level that the club can't pay the going rate for yet.

Having said that. Please not Liverpool. God forbid!

It's the way it's been done. And the timing. He can eff off.

Yeah if he goes to Liverpool, fuck him. Can't stand them.

Infuriating how these cunts can just spend what they want and we're not allowed to despite having the backing to blow all the cunts out the water.

Aye I suppose so, they do currently have Nunez though and he's been playing and scoring in their first couple of pre-season games. It's just so unusual to see a club buy two mega-strikers in the same window.

They don't want him though and our owners are mugs who loved helping the cartel.

We are getting cucked so hard because our owners are away with the fairies. Saudis art collection is with more than Fenway. I exaggerate here.

I'd be just as disappointed in the club tbh.

Guess the generous interpretation is that he's made it impossible for the club and they need to take the money from the only club that wants to stump up.

Personally I would rather refuse to sell him to anyone in the PL, but I guess they might decide they can't miss out on the cash.

At least tie it to signing a direct replacement or something, I guess.

My heads up my arse with this, Andy Cole vibes all over again.

Feel like I want to blame everyone, Isak, his agent, Mitchell, Eales, Liverpool if they tapped him up, then there's the rumours Amanda and Mehrdad made promises they perhaps couldn't deliver, but it's impossible to know where it all fell apart.

The thing is, if he wants to leave a group as good as this it's his loss, we don't need players who would rather be elsewhere.

Sell to the Saudis for mega money and I'll be less pissed about it all, but sell to them scouse clowns, then football can fuck off, the state its in right now, it's pointless.

We are miles behind. Isak closed that gap. The whole league is a joke now. It’s a 4 team league and the rest make up the numbers. At least under Ashley the club had itself to blame. This…this just seems pointless.

Just my thoughts. Not really trying to convince anyone as people will feel differently. Can see if some people would prefer to pack it in and choose to do so.

Despite suffering a serious case of head loss today but if we re-invest similar to how Spurs used the Bale fee as a platform I’ll live with it. The club have got to show they’re capable of getting deals done quickly though.

We just have to keep going. The fee will no doubt allow us to better fill out the squad with greater depth and decent quality replacements. I think we'll still be a good team and in position to challenge for a top 4/5 place.

I think for now that's just what it is. Until we start making bigger strides off the pitch on the commercial side, or until PSR gets scrapped.

Then lets see what the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool actually look like once the games start. Chelsea prior to last season had spent a billion and it wasn't very convincing frankly. They barely finished ahead of us, and it was largely down to our lack of depth.

I've mostly felt depth has been our biggest issue, and so it will be interesting to see how next season goes if we can address that to a greater extent.

So I think some of my caution is baked into this right here.

We've watched Chelsea sell themselves a hotel. We watched Liverpool flog two midfielders to Saudi for 50m the other summer. I don't see those levers as being accessible to this football club, including new sponsors.

It was a carry on to get one Saudi investor as a sponsor, even though the likes of Man Utd struck a deal with a Saudi company and Arsenal had Visit Rwanda on their arm. When I try to evaluate the routes to glory here, I see us getting trapped in a cyclical routine whereby we find someone like Isak or Bruno and are then forced to sell them to the same teams we aspire to be next to. When we try to maximise other revenue streams (often via routes other teams have used) we are told that it needs to be ratified by the league, or that there's an emergency meeting to discuss whether it's legal.

No amount of good planning or shrewd thinking gets you over that wall. One might even argue that Isak came to us because he saw it as a stepping stone to something more, and how on earth do you break that way of thinking?

It might have been, why has Eddie not let him travel?

If there's a chance he's lining up against us in a month I'd guess Howe doesn't want him near training

League was much less competitive when spurs had that little run. Cartel clubs will be spending about 2b this summer. Totally unprecedented levels of spending.

He only gets one career tbf, he probably wants to make the most of it and we are hamstrung by PSR. He will likely win multiple titles and a champions league in next few years with them. Harsh reality of our position and have to hope we reinvest wisely

I reckon there’ll be a he doesn’t play that game clause, or at least gentleman’s agreement.
