Pretty naive to think we’d accept a cut price fee because he publicly wants out They’re 100% behind this in some way. They’re the first to cry when Trent runs down his contract but happily tap under contract players up (for those who aren’t aware, see VVD back in summer 17). Fucking bullies. Only way to get rid of a bully is to stand up to the cunts. Sadly it isn’t my decision but I’d not sell to them for literally any price. Pride is more important than out else now. Sibierski
We can’t release a statement, as whilst we can say no promises were made, who’s to say there’s not emails between Mitchell and Isak agent saying he will be sold this summer if we get a bid of £120m. We won’t know about it, but it then puts us in the shit. Just better off staying quiet on it.

Doesn't matter if the person making the verbal agreement on behalf of the club isn't at the club anymore. I can understand his dissapointment (although I don't feel sorry financially for someone making what he is making regardless of what his peers do), but is it really worth potentially wrecking your entire career for it? What club wants to offer him the wage he can demand now, here or elsewhere, if he hasn't played a competitive match for 3 years? No way to prove it, wouldn't hold up in court. Pretty naive to think we’d accept a cut price fee because he publicly wants out I've thought for a while that Liverpool were lead to believe that their original offer was pretty close to what we'd accept and were assuming that bid would lead to a negotiation rather than what seems to have been "No, fuck off". Now it's clear they won't meet our price, Isak/the agent are windmilling to try and force our asking price down. Perhaps I'm wrong in giving LFC the benefit of the doubt but it's just a feeling I've had as this has developed.

gdm
By the it’s good of Alexander to take the shine off of someone he’s desperate to be a future team mate of. The selfish cunt. Everyone especially Liverpool fans are talking about his statement more than the fact Salah won the player of the year.
Sibierski
That BBC sports quote stinks of something agree between Mitchell/Eales and Isak agent, which was in words and not on paper, so as soon as first bid rejected, the agent is saving face. Absolutely no need to divert attention from it. Everybody with an ounce of integrity and common sense will see right through that statement. Immediately after seeing the statement I was enraged and wanted the club to respond with an emphatict statement. But on reflection, that would just create a media feeding frenzy of Isak/Liverpools word vs purs, they have the advantage when it comes to media mouth pieces, so that's not a battlefield we want to be dragged onto. The smart move is the let him drip on social media like your aunt complaining about her ex on Facebook. Of course you'll still get the likes of Romano, Ornstein and Those weird Irish Liverpool fan channels to say 'u OK hun' but most of the football media and especially fans of all teams will see right through it and will only see Isak making an arse of himself. Never interrupt your enemy while he's making a mistake.

Would be good to see the club just purely respond to his claims with the facts (if of course he is bending the truth as we think) but at the same time one slight misstep in our statement could open us up. Saying nothing won't exactly satisfy the likes of us, but who cares, we're "winning" in the sense that we're not bowing to secret scouse Romano & friends. I just don’t think that they need to. Isak and his camp are coming out looking like cunts. They are freely providing information that they are getting desperate. We haven’t provided much at all. I mean I dont want Wissa now because of how he's acted. I dont care what you were 'promised'. Its a contract. You get paid millions. More than most will ever earn in their LIFE in 6 months. I honestly couldn't give a f*** what happens to him or how we look to future players - football is disgusting and this man Alexander the so called great, epitomises it. In all fairness, Wissa has started training again.

But the promise has to be sufficiently definite to constitute a binding obligation and “we’ll sell you next summer if we get a fair bid” certainly doesn’t qualify. TRC
I think it’s clear we told him we could leave once replacements came in. Yorkie
This is all so utterly bizarre. Has the agent got his kids, or something? It's all so ridiculously disproportionate. Not sure about the club releasing a statement and essentially engaging in a Twitter spat with its own player. Anyone with a brain cell knows the player is being a dickhead here. The College Dropout
Last throw of the dice from him and his agent. Trying to totally burn the bridge. We can’t fold. £150m+ 2 players that we want in his position or no deal.
