Mike - you brought me up on making a joke at the expense of Jota, and yep, hands up, you were right to do that. Fair enough.

However 'cocksucker' is rooted in homophobia and there's no need for it.

Is it really any worse than, say, "wanker" or "cunt"? To me it's just a generic term of abuse whose offensiveness depends entirely on context. "Motherfucker" might be another example.

We don't need to go into it here but yeah, it is a bit worse. It heavily implies it's demeaning to do so because that's not what straight men do. None of the other terms has a nod towards homophobia in the same way. You can check out the online discourse.

I had an electrician recently use the N-word in a way I'm sure he just thought was a generic term of abuse etc. as well - doesn't make it right when you consider it a bit more, and won't be hiring him again obvs!

You had to consider the use of the N word a bit more before deciding it wasn't right, yet jump on someone for using a generic slur that very very likely doesn't mean what it supposedly meant 50/60 years ago. Strange energy at this time of the day.

I still say keep him and sell him as soon as someone from Europe comes in for him, much rather take £100-120m for him from say Barca than £150m+ from the dippers, not that they'll ever pay that much. Even if we get Wissa in too, it just means he'll have to try even harder to get that move away if we don't need him all that much. We have an interesting 3 days ahead of us.

Completely agree with this. We all know he’s gone now, he’s going to go for £100m no matter where it is and whether it’s January or summer next year. Hold him and just completely ostracise him for being a terrible influence on the club. Cut him out of everything so he can’t poison anyone.

I think the challenge with that is it requires a lot of extra mental resource from Howe, especially if there are people in the squad who are closer to Isak. However, it’s the best option from the perspective of sending a message to everyone internally and externally that you can’t carry on like Isak and get away with it

Be funny if we do agree to sell but then it gets clogged up at the paperwork stage when it turns out we aren't paying any loyalty bonuses and state we interpret his actions (especially his statement saying the relationship can't continue) as a transfer request.

Give him the option to find a club abroad or hang about. Feel a lot more relaxed about this now we’re getting sorted, but Liverpool should be told to get fucked in no uncertain terms. No longer that arsed about Isak himself, he’s a mercenary cunt but he’s hardly the first.

When we do sell him this window (as I think is inevitable even though I don’t agree with it) it says a lot about the power and trust PIF have in Howe. It’ll have been his decision to bin Isak. Convinced PIF would never have come close to countenancing the idea without Howe pushing for it. Whether we like it or not, Howe deserves to do whatever he thinks is best for the team

If you’ve been waiting to get your own back then that’s a poor one to pull somebody up for. Fuck me (although this may be homophonic if I was suggesting a man did it)

edit

Can’t wait to see snakerat leave the cub.  His actions suit his favoured clubs fanbase.

I never use it as it feels like an American insult only, had never even considered a homophobic connotation. Just can’t be associated with the Yanks

Im of the understanding it’s more about the subservient position of the person providing the service.

Dont agree at all. Howe has said in interviews recently about meetings between Isak reps and club that he wasnt privy to. If we believe Howe that Isak had told him he wasnt happy with contract issue then surely Howe would have pleaded with owners to sort it but who clearly didn't listen to him.

We have in some ways because that’s been the message between the lines all summer.

We’ve finally got the ticket striker in, and now it’s over to Liverpool. They either don’t make a bid and we do nothing more in striker search. Or they offer £130m+ which is closer to our terms, where it’s greeted in three ways. 1) flat out rejection, not for sale (be a ballsy move this as would indicate club want him back in the squad) or 2) rejected, but it’s worded that it’s not close to the terms we want I.e. structure / extra few million but a deal is there to be made, or 3) it’s accepted.

I’d expect it to be number 2, and for it to come at some point today. That way, we can then work on the final striker signing and all parties have things done by Monday midday, meaning no made scramble up to final hours of deadline day.

Just about every Woltemade to NUFC story is framed as an Isak to Liverpool story.

Would love to believe that we've been working on this deal for a while and have been lining up alternative bidders for Isak.

But I don't really believe it. Hope someone else comes in with a decent bid before the window. Or better if they sweeten the deal by offering a gem in part exchange.

Many women and men can take immense pleasure and pride in providing the service to the best of their ability

So I’ve been told by people I know who aren’t me but who know women and men who enjoy providing the service

What if some club from Europe came in for Isak and we accepted their offer and Isak says fuck that I only want the dippers? Leave him to rot?

If someone had said at 4.30pm yesterday that we were about to announce the signing of Woltemade and he was on his way over here then no-one would have believed it

If Isak does goes to Liverpool it’ll be because we’ve decided that’s the best scenario for NUFC, not because it’s the best scenario for Isak or Liverpool

They're not subservient if they enjoy the act, excerpt a measure of control over the process and, ultimately, the recipient is the one begging for it.

Quite the opposite 😜😎😂
