You'd imagine there are multiple clubs monitoring this and I'd doubt Liverpool is the only bid we get.

Happy with him going now but not to Liverpool.

If we end up standing firm by while other interested parties bought other strikers and then wilt and accept a low uncontested bid, that will really really poor.

Presumably no-one else tapped up Isak because they thought he was too expensive at our imaginary fee.

If we sell for below £150m without signing Wissa / another striker, it's not the best look for the club, especially after the 'conditions of sale' statement we released.

Liverpool wont go to £150m. I think we'll compromise at £135m. Shite but we just want rid of the turd that won't flush now

£135m to get a bad apple out isn't all bad.

Really happy with how our window has turned out in the end, but it will leave a massive sour taste if (/when) we cave.

They've literally played a blinder - unsettled him, let him kick up a fuss and will end up getting £20-30m knocked off the price to boot. It fucking stinks and we've been utterly bullied into submission.

Totally understand Howe and the players want him out - me too - but pride surely comes into it? We've got until the end of June next year to find a buyer to bank it in this years figures, and next year you could have Barca, Bayern & even PSG looking for a forward. Now it's only Liverpool, it makes no sense to me.

At best we could have loaned him literally anywhere but there, at worst (best for me, worst for the club) we could have let him sit on his skinny arse as a bit of a punishment.

Really gutted if the outcome is him going there, regardless of price tbh.

You'd take it all things considering. Get another striker in and we're better placed to keep momentum up all season, not just in patches where one striker is scoring.

It’s a very difficult situation and ultimately a rock and a hard place. Take a hard stance and rightly so but end up having that sulking wanker loitering about the place which could seriously affect the first part of the season. It’s almost as if there isn’t a right or wrong decision - Howe will ultimately have to make a decision which causes the least damage. Isak has become toxic which means he’s more likely to leave imo. Just hope someone clatters him at Anfield if he’s playing for them against us. Awful twatt

I've thought a lot about this. Is no other club interested? Seems a little strange, no? But that's how it's been depicted in the media. If a foreign club want him, I'm not too fussed about the fee.

Whatever happens with incoming players wait until the January window before sacking off the rat:

1) sends a message to others not to try this approach in the future

2) fucks off Isak for quite a few CL games

3) weakens Liverpool a while

4) may open competition from overseas teams for his signature

Howe wont make the final decision though. Yes he will express his feelings to them but ultimately the final decision will be the owners.

Does Barcelona have any money at all? Because I'd sell him to them for 90mil and Fermin Lopez, which seems totally fair.

At this point, I’d do a straight swap for Fermin just so he doesn’t go to Liverpool.

Regardless of the outcome, we should be taking legal action against Liverpool for their conduct. There is no good in telling the Premier League, they won’t even listen, in fact we should be including them for allowing this to play out.

We should also be including the likes of Romano, Ornstein, and Bein Jacobs, and we should release a statement banning them from the club for their ‘active participation in the illegal tapping up and disruptive behaviour of Isak at the rest of Liverpool FC and his agent’.

Marinakos is taking legal action against Spurs for tapping up their player, we should play hardball as well. The only thing that the Premier League is afraid of now is a team of lawyers, and all the clubs are going to get pretty fucking fed up if they have to keep losing money for legal fees and compensation.

Poor Luke, the Liverpool plastics will be all over him like a cheap suit.

He's done a fine job winding them up, even if this affair reaches an ignominious conclusion.

For foreign readers.

ignominious

/ˌɪɡnə(ʊ)ˈmɪnɪəs/

adjective

deserving or causing public disgrace or shame.

This is just how transfers work nowadays though unfortunately. The issue here is how Isak and his agent have reacted, blaming Liverpool for that is like blaming us for Wissa going on strike in my opinion.
