Petition to lock. Don't want it bumped. Ever

On the plus side it will likely on ever get bumped when he does something bad or he fucks them like he fucked us.

I think he's universally disliked on here now.

We need the thread for when he's injured or misses sitters man. It'll be like the spurs thread, not frequently bumped but always worth a read when it is.

Interview was dynamic as owt  looks delighted to be there

I'm wondering now how he has been behind the scenes these last three seasons. I've no doubt of his talent, but in treating it purely like a job he doesn't seem to have the same off field togetherness as the rest of the squad and I wonder if that's always been the case not just last season.

Anyway, doesn't matter, I'm a lot happier to have two strikers, one with potential and a big chance to show he can make it in the PL and the other with a big new CL adventure to look forward to.

If Edwards' account is accurate then I'm not sure what I'm missing when it comes to PIF suddenly becoming weak (or whatever adjective you want to use). It doesn't sound like weakness, it sounds like they took the decision that reintegration seemed impossible and keeping him could do more harm than good, so they sold him. We'll reluctantly take the £130million then, I guess. Where's the lube in that?

We only get £125m of that. Then Sociedad take their 10% cut, then his agent takes a massive cut, so in reality we get nowhere near £125m, especially for PSR purposes.

Interesting that our media lads had Wissa talk effusively and at length about Brentford, presumably to distance him from comparisons to Isak. I only flicked through that interview above but assume there was nowt from Isak about Newcastle.

Just such a weird turn. I've long accepted that players don't treat clubs like fans but the disrespect given everything that's happened is just so far off the scale. I really do think he's at the far end of that particular spectrum and represents a rare case.

He saw us a stepping stone, felt he was bigger than the club which is why he took the nuclear approach.

I'm sure he feels he's done nothing at all wrong.

Remember when this was first going round and I thought it was a load of bullshit

Think most of us gave him the benefit of the doubt. Thought he

was playing through injury because Wilson couldn't play 90 mins. Indeed it now looks like he simply downed tools to make him summer move easier.

Interesting to see what PIF make of all this. When they bought the club 4 years ago and the chairman said he wanted to be number 1, I doubt he realised there'd be rules quickly put into place meaning that he'd have to sell his star player to a rival.

Not 100% as didn't start taking notice until half way along Strawberry Place, but it looks like the City Council has been out overnight and replaced all the lamppost banners with the rat on. Seemed to be an awful lot with Big Joe on this morning.

We clear circa £90-100 Million, so aye, definitely shit for PSR 🙄 that's before the £6 Mill a year wages we're not paying him.

I personally find it quite telling that Liverpool didn't make any efforts to make sure he said something, even if only for some level of PR.

Arrogance and disrespect is through the roof.

His agent takes a massive cut of our sale? Sounds like the same BS as loyalty bonus being 10% of the transfer fee.

£130m minus £10% of the profit on the amount above his fee (£6.7m) minus £31.5m book value remaining = £92m. I’d take that.

He had about £30m left of his amortisation. So if we clear £100m then it’s £70m net.

Woltemade and Wissa will cost about £35m per year. So Isak covers them for 2 seasons.  I thought it would be more like 3 seasons.
It’s not the PSR silver bullet people think it is. And few of our bigger signings will be unless we get a premium.  Thats because a majority of our big transfers were bought at a premium in the first place.  And then we replace them with premium signings.

Our entire transfer approach isn’t going to be overly fruitful long term from a PSR perspective.  It does need to change.

It’s all done now, but he’s so going to be peddled on again by his agent in 3 years time for that final big pay day (6 year deal at 28/29).

yep 2 or 3 years. I wonder if they were smart enough to put a release clause in his contract this time?

£100m is BS first off. And you are forgetting that we also don't have to pay Isak's contract fee.

I'll be doubly hate watching the dippers now, can't wait to watch him fluff that first 1v1 on the keeper and hear the scouse groans while Isak's groin makes an audible popping sound and he's out for the best part of 6 games again.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, I'm excited to see Wissa terrorise defenses and Woltemade to play his way into the starting 11 and prove he's even better than the plastic scouse rat. Good riddance.

I honestly think all was probably fine most of the time. Then he found out the move that was on the table and was happy to fuck it all.

Behind the scenes videos included him and he was clearly close with certain players. Even at the League Cup parade, I remember him being a bit of an instigator for Bruno getting more and more mischievous on the mic so it's not like he was an outsider.

It's firmly settled in my mind now that he's just a bit of a sociopath. Does what needs to be done for the benefit of himself and clearly happy to burn any bridges along the way.
