Is Toney at a PIF club? Him on loan for the season to earn his world cup place, Wissa or Watkins to replace Wilson, then a year to plan the long term replacement for Isak.

I was thinking this yesterday, with a loan fee so the prem can’t say anything.

4 goals in 17 for Brentford in his last season, I know he was banned but it's still not great numbers. Could he be relied upon?

So you think Sweden won’t pick him? For who exactly? and when he has one year left you think the top teams won’t still take a gamble on him for an affordable price? I may be wrong but he’s only proven three things two me he’s guaranteed to score goals, he’s guaranteed to get injuries and he’s now proven to be petty. I personally think they will still take a chance

If he's playing utterly shit without any form I’d imagine they’ll change their formation and pivot to Gyokeres who is now playing for Arsenal.

Honestly 10 minutes on here today and I’m off to buy shares in Tena

I would honestly not sell him to Liverpool now regardless of the price. Spend some money on Wissa and a little more on another backup, put him in the reserves and look into the prospect of not paying him.

Obvs won’t happen but that’s what I’d like to see now.

Read it on one site, admittedly only one around half hour ago he’s turned to training as normal so if that’s true then that deals off.

Furthermore, the submission of a transfer request can lead to significant financial penalties for a player. Formally asking to leave while employed by a club constitutes a breach of that contract, and could mean a player is no longer entitled to contractual bonuses like signing-on fees and loyalty bonuses.

Surely refusing to train with the team whilst being under contract and clearly being able to constitutes a breach of contract too?

It’s also backfired plenty of times, huge gamble when we’re lowballing other strikers willing to not pay the going price so will start the season with just him in this “fuck you - you will play “ state of mind, trying to prove we’re a big club by doing this in a CL season and those extra games may just prove we’re not yet and effect us in the transfer window going forward. We need to be be firm yet professional about this, if he goes then fair enough but £120M they can go fuck themselves.

When has it backfired?

The only examples I can think of a consequential player actually downing tools for an extended period because they wanted out was a washed up C Ronaldo (who was already being phased out) and Tevez (who came back and played a key role at the most important part of the season anyway)

They (Liverpool) know what they are doing by the way. The timeline of this will have been all planned out and agreed with Isak.

He will have known official bids will go in for him before he's expected back into training next week.

May have had his mind on other things on his mind, also proved it in another season, for a loan it’s worth it imo.

Ultimately all we require is a player who can put the ball in the back of the net, not bothered if he's even 30 / 32 as long as it helps us out for the coming season, gotta be a striker who is out of contract somewhere.

Honestly don't think they can afford £100m+ up front this summer, hence the half and half offer.

But any fee we get, if he goes, has to be up front, THIS summer.

We should also put a deadline on this deal. We cannot let this drag to TF deadline day.

Again.

Ones who can replace Isak to a certain level. If we can't he doesn't go. Not rocket science you know

There aren’t any though, that’s the problem. Which is why Isak should not be sold for any amount. Which means if PIF do sell then they have indeed been a soft touch with this.
