Turnbull2000 Posted Sunday at 18:41 Share Posted Sunday at 18:41 Yeah, think Chelsea are a better prospect for 2nd and staying closest to Pool. That's £2bn squad was bound to reap dividends eventually. Arse would be a close 3rd. 4th could be anybodies is City continue like this. Forest taking it would be fantastic. 54 Posted Sunday at 18:44 Share Posted Sunday at 18:44 Man City are just mentally shanked, they haven't refreshed the squad particularly well, so the hunger to go again from the same set of players after a grueling campaign last season, and the 3 seasons previous just isn't there. I also think they're a prime example of an issue that a lot of clubs are having, none of their players have had a break since COVID, they're all being run into the ground, there was a Euros and Copa America in the summer, before that there was a mid-season World Cup which elongated and condensed the calendar, the year before that it was year late Euros, all the while, more and more games are being added to the calendar, like potentially 4 extra games in the Champions League, a new revamped club world cup, its just unsustainable from a physical point of view. As an example, Phil Foden is 24, and he's already played 329 games for club, and 43 games for England. Its ridiculous.

Hmmm ... not so sure about any momentum myself. As poor as Man City were, Man Utd matched them, up until the mistakes at the end. Any team that plays with more urgency and aggression will continue to test Man Utd. They have Bournemouth next as an example.

It seems like in midfield they are lacking that player that can keep things ticking when KDB is out.
