midds is saying the same thing as me.

And he didn't look great in the signing photo IMO. But it could have just been bad pictures.

If they end up getting top 4 because of it, it's very smart business personally. Let's see what happens next season -  I've been impressed with him at Villa though, looks hungry.

i'd rather have years of abject Rashford performances backing my point up than a couple half decent performances at a new club. Be flash in the pan territory for a good while yet.

(as someone who didn't comment/care one way or the other)

Watching the Arsenal game. How on Earth did Lewis-Skelly (or whatever his name is) not immediately get a red? I just don’t know what thought process could possibly have gone through the ref’s head for him to give a yellow card. This is the problem we have with VAR: it sucks but as long as refs suck even more it makes it hard to bin it off.

I know why they've gone with it but that was about 5 minutes of highlights for the lead game

It does frustrate me sometimes when some legitimate highlights seem to be reserved for the post-highlights analysis.

Probably feared the backlash after what happened the other week. Easier to upgrade from a yellow to a red than vice versa but I totally get your point.

Another fine day for VAR.

I’m glad they overturned the Everton one. I’m fed up of cheating twats like Ashley Young getting away of it. Stop diving.

I didn't think it was a penalty either, but it definitely treads into re-refing the game territory.

Without it that stands as a penalty though, and that’s the last it’s spoken about. Just another cheat being rewarded (again) for manipulating real-time perception.

Looking at Asensio and Rashford making instant impact, makes me wonder just why we don’t get any reinforcement by loans, not even 1 during last year crisis

They're terrified of the whiny as fuck manager and fanbase.

Really can't wait till we can sprinkle in some aging number 10s for our squad for depth. Ones that can play midfield and forward roles. Asensio was a real coup. They have Barkely, too. Really annoying.

Perfect example today of why we should have looked at the loan market. 2 goals for Villa from a loanee, both assisted by another.

These guys are costing them half a mil per week. For us to do it we would need guaranteed champions league which obviously can't be guaranteed.

On Chelsea, are any of the players they bought worth more now than what they paid Palmer being the obvious exception?

Really good point this one. Jackson maybe? There certainly isn’t many. They’ve massively over paid on every front.

What do betting companies gain by paying out early on things? Is it just a publicity stunt?

Paddy Power paid out on Liverpool winning the league

Yeah showing punters they are a generous bookie to draw them in. Plenty of free headlines.

A gamblings firms core mission is to hook more and more people.
