Yeah it's a foul but arsenal have been doing the same all season and getting away with it.

Then it has to always be a foul is the argument.

If it's reffed as a foul, Arsenal's goals from set pieces this year would be like 3

Trossard knows it was a pen judging by his interview - VAR did it's job.  The reason it was brought in.

It was very random and I have no affiliation with the city / club, but I remember last season they were top of the league, but didn't actually win a home match until February 14th at the 11th time of asking [emoji38], which is crazy. From there I saw that they won the UEFA Cup Winners Cup in 1974, which I didn't realise, but have never played in the Bundesliga since reunification, so I was hoping they could do it, but they fell away towards the end, finishing 5th.

Plus all the Bundesliga 2 matches being on YouTube with English commentary here in the UK is a huge bonus and they are actually good to watch - 109 goals in their 33 league matches this season.

They can still fall into the relegation playoff on the final day next Sunday, but would take them to lose, Dresden to draw, and 14th, 15th, and 16th all to win, which would be pretty unlikely.

That is random and I didn't know about the YouTube thing. Good to know that. Bundesliga 2 is a bit like the Championship in that it's really competitive and still a good standard. It's a bit of a tonic to all the entrenched advantages in so many top flight leagues. As many on here probably know based on the number of Geordie voices you hear in the Altstadt on any given weekend Fortuna is a good day out. Start off in the Altstadt with either an Alt or a beer from a kiosk drank on the steps which look out onto the Rhine. Then borrow a bike and cycle along the Rhein to the stadium via another beer at the Fortuna budchen at the bottom of the Rheinpark. A have a few in the stadium drinking then while watching the game as you can do that here then back on the bike for a night in the Altstadt. Can't go far wrong with that.

It is, but given it's one foul in amongst many, surely the goal should be chalked off and a penalty given?

Or preferably no intervention at all and we can actually enjoy the natural drama of the game?

Quite surprised Sky didn't have this Chesterfield vs Notts County match at 7pm and after the Arsenal match. Better for the fans, although it is a regional derby so most fans would be home sooner than most matches anyway.

Show me these goals where an Arsenal player fouls the opposition keeper that blatantly

Aye, it's great. Matches on Friday at 5.30pm and then scattered all over the weekend. There was a spell a month or so ago when they suddenly weren't available on YouTube and you had to download the app, but they quickly returned, probably a ploy to get those invested to use the app and to hopefully keep it. Not sure if they will have all 9 matches on next week with them all kicking off at the same time - might not have enough commentators to cover it

The actual Bundesliga coverage isn't as strong here as a lot of the matches are on Amazon Prime PPV.

Looks like all the matches are scheduled to be on the platform next Sunday. Still a big match, but Furth vs Dusseldorf would have been even bigger had Furth got a late equaliser today.

It's the first foul and therefore a free kick for Arsenal

Someone just sent me a tweet saying Palace get £10m from the Eze deal if Arsenal win the league. Surely not?

Based on FM it's quite normal for add ons to be based on winning the league/CL etc

Their are multiple fouls every corner.  It's about which fouls are given and especially VAR overruling what was given on the pitch.  That should be a foul, but so are 4 to 5 challenges per corner.  I guarantee that in another game we'd get "It's not a clear and obvious mistake so we can't intervene".

It would have been very interesting had it have been 1-0 to West Ham, or 0-0, and Arsenal scored the 'goal' in the dying seconds.

 Not really.

They'd just give the goal.

Feel like it shouldn't be allowed for teams in the same division. It's madness that Palace are going into a huge game like this knowing if they lose the club gets £10m.

I keep reading there’s always loads of holding at corners and, there is. Problem here is that Raya gets hands on the ball with 1 player putting his arm across his chest and his hand is in Raya’s face. Meanwhile another player is pulling his shirt from behind.

Peter Schmeichel saying Raya had to be stronger is blinkered nonsence. At 1st viewing I thought the same and while I’m not sure he’d have clung on to the ball under the pressure he was under there’s not doubt it’d wouldn’t have slipped between his hands like it did.

All that said the amount of grappling we see at corners is ridiculous, you can see less blocking and more players looking at the actual ball in a NFL game.

How is it the 1st foul man. There's pulling and pushing going on all over the box but Arsenal get the decision because, well, Arsenal.

Urgh.

I think we were split down the middle. A lot of people are confident that we’ll get a win or two in the last couple of games and so wanted a draw. A lot, like me, just want to make sure we have the best possible chance to stay up, which meant a West Ham loss. I’m not confident at all in us getting even one win at home, however well we played against Villa. And frankly, I am too old for this shit.

I couldn’t watch, for all sorts of reasons. Not least because Arsenal can be horrible to watch. I hope and pray we stay up, obviously, and if this is the deciding match both ways then I’m ok with it. Because it highlighted what Arsenal are - a nervous and twitchy club that has decided gamesmanship, exploiting referees and set pieces are the best way to win. When it came down to it I realized n following the BBC text that actually I wasn’t too fussed either way, I just didn’t want West Ham to win. They nearly did.

I was glad when Arsenal scored just because it meant West Ham wouldn’t get a late winner. When West Ham equalized I was kinda happy too. Just…this might be the best of both worlds. We get a West Ham loss but Arsenal won in a shitty way that highlights their essential shittiness. I’m sure their fans don’t care. I do. That’s enough.

How is this anywhere near like the one today? This looks fine to me.

Today had player pulling the keepers arm then another pulling his shirt arm.
