I couldn't really say. I was only 12 or so when he scored that volley in the final, 8 when he scored those 2 headers v Brazil at the WC. We didn't have sky sports so was limited to watching tid bits of him on itv or BBC in champions league or international tournaments. Just remember being in awe of him. Obviously, I know Messi and Ronaldo are way ahead of him and me saying he's the greatest of all time is largely down to sentiment from when I was growing up. Yep, we will be playing need to beat two of Arsenal, Chelsea or City to win the thing. We did it last year but we will be under dogs in all of those games and probably a 10% chance of winning the entire thing. Not losing the derby is important IMO. We can lose at Leverkusen and still qualify for at least a play-off spot in the CL if we win either PSV or PSG. Two draws might even do it. Yorkie Posted December 9, 2025 Share Posted December 9, 2025 The opportunity that Leverkusen presents in terms of top 8 prospects is too great to rotate too heavily, but it's easily the least important of those four games imo. We could win or lose and still finish between 9th and 16th. We can't be letting the mackems get one over us and the league campaign is just too crucial for us to not prioritise, and beating Fulham puts us in a terrific chance to retain a trophy for the first time since the 50s.
