Not sure how much anybody will care about this sort of thing but perhaps this is the thread for it!

My Grandad used to record more or less everything NUFC (and other NE sporting events) to VHS. I am working through digitising them, it’s all 1994-99 era. A lot of it is Match of the Day highlights which are widely available anyway (plus PL copyright etc) but there’s some random stuff too. This is North East footballer of the year from 94/95 season, broadcast on Tyne Tees.

Wish both Barca and Real both would get in the fucking sea, smug, corrupt pair of entitled cunts.  World football would be better if they both just ceased to exist.

Wou;d at least put an end to generic "football fans" wearing Barca shirts in the same way "music fan" Tim Lovejoy wears his Ramones shirt.

Watched a "Big Match Revisited" recently and they had a couple of goals featured in goal of the season. One for and one against Chelsea in their only top flight season. Mad to think they were in the old 1st division once upon a time. 74/75 I think. I believe they topped it briefly.

I remember that Mexican wave that Keegan mentions, yeah the season fell away after that.

Next video is a selection of news reports from when Les Ferdinand signed in 1995. Tyne Tees, BBC local and some BBC national stuff about the price of football.

Oh and it includes a certain "teaser" shirt in the back of a car as discussed many months ago with @midds and @Jonas

Could be encouraging news for Amanda and her family. Really interesting although not directly football-related.

[Edit -- I now see this was previously posted on the "Backroom staff" thread.]

I'm gonna go all bobbydazzla here whinge about stats. Do you really think our first goal was a set piece ? Was it an actual ploy for Murphy's original free kick to be that poor etc ?

Was watching some old season reviews a few weeks ago and I became more and more convinced that Ferdinand is the best all-round striker I've ever seen here. He was absolutely unstoppable. 50 goals in 84 games without a single penalty.

Has Pep changed Man City to much to accommodate Haaland ? Watching them yesterday and the whole team is just focused on getting Haaland to score, I bet some tactically experts on here will have stats to disprove this but they are definitely different to watch since Haaland came.

How come I've only just found out there's a film about Roy Keane and Mick McCarthy's world cup ructions, with Steve Coogan playing the role of Mick McCarthy.

It was posted on here a few months ago.

Saw that this morning. Must be really struggling for ideas and stories for new films [emoji38]

They'd be where the likes of Milan and Juve are now without what they do. Obviously still mega clubs but not in the elite when it comes to lifting Champions League trophies.
