It's written in the laws that if the hand is planted on the deck as a result of someone going to ground, it's not a pen as it's deemed a "natural" part of going to deck rather than gaining an advantage e.g. arm waiving around above the head etc.

 

The ref and the east stand lino have been fucking minging in general but letter of the law that wasn't a pen.

Is that the rule nowadays? Seems well odd. I can understand a pen not given if it hits the arm in front of the body, but this stopped a cross coming in front of goal. Should be a pen really
