The College Dropout
Some lovely first touches today.
The Prophet
By far our best forward, granted Wilson and particularly Almiron were somewhat frustrating.
duo
Needs to improve his finishing though- had some great chance today. Straight at the keeper.
TheBrownBottle
Feels odd to write, but I thought he was both MOTM and also culpable for the goal that cost us the game. He’s been fantastic this season, and doesn’t look out of place at this level.

Harsh to blame him for the goal Thought he was pulled back initially but he carries on and it's a fantastic tackle by Schlotterbeck They still had a bit to do and there was a lack of urgency from a few players Attacking players will get tackled and lose the ball when trying to take players on, it's part and parcel Overall I thought he was our best player and has been our best this season, he caused them all sorts of problems and should really have gotten an assist if Wilson took his chance The one aspect of his game he could really work on is his finishing, it's clearly not natural to him but with the chance he got he needs to know low and going for the far corner is the best choice to make

Akin to playing a dangerous square ball. Gordon is young though - he’ll learn from it

Don't even blame him for the goal, it should be expected that when attacking you'll often lose the ball in the opposition half - we got caught out by a brilliant counter Agree here, it was just a class tackle to stop him. The Butcher
Wouldn't swap him for any LW in the league. Fantastic player. So positive, full of running and wants to create stuff all the time. His movement is brilliant for a 22 year old. Absolute gem.
STM
I'm still shaking my head in disbelief. When a few where doubting the signing, I was saying to give him time but if I'm completely honest, I understood why people didn't see it. He looked sluggish, like he couldn't finish, like he wasn't working as hard as he could.... What a fucking transformation. He's absolutely class. 22 years old right? And he was our best player yesterday by some distance, in the CL. Worth every penny.
Broadsword
I think on one or two occasions he tried to do too much, he nearly lost the ball earlier trying to dribble across the pitch and was lucky to get a free kick, tried it again and that led to the goal. It sure if he was trying too hard as there were good options for passes too. Shame as otherwise he was outstanding again. Xx
Conjo
He's not much of a dribbler, but the way he times his acceleration while knocking the ball past players is sublime. Nobody are able to get to the ball, so it's either a foul or he gets past them.
KDT
I suppose the key question I have is if he's a baller or not?

Striking the ball cleanly too. He's getting there. He's reminding me a bit of Sadio Mane. Excellent pressing, great engine, pace, good ball carrier. Good box movement. Newcastle Fan
Hasn't been his at his best today but that's understandable considering the effort he put on Wednesday, age is on his side though and he should recover well for the next game. Gallowgate Toon
Felt like he was coming in too much again. He's sometimes devastating when he goes down the outside or at least mixes it up.
The College Dropout
Thought he was quietly excellent. A lot of great runs to create space for others. His mobility gave us an out ball we don’t have without Isak.
Jimburst
looked shagged at the end like, glad he came off!

Gallowgate Toon
He probably covered about half as much ground as he would when on the wing, bit of a night off for him
AyeDubbleYoo
He’s mint, has all the technique and awareness in the world.
KaKa
Just now, Gallowgate Toon said: He probably covered about half as much ground as he would when on the wing, bit of a night off for him Part of the reason he was started upfront I think. Didn't need to do as much running and graft. Was still such a good team performance from him. Involved in lots of interchanges with Almiron, Willock and Joelinton, and constantly threatened in behind which opened up space for us.
Ginola
Always puts endless amounts of graft in and looks to be developing a really good intelligence of the game. His run to create space for Willicks goal was very smart. Brilliant, reliable player
Lush Vlad
Didn’t always come off. But his link up, little touches round the corner, pass and go and the runs he made off the ball were top quality. Won’t get all the flowers that Tino, Willock, Hall and co are getting. But he just quietly went about his business and did really well.
Pilko
Big tick in the box in terms of being able to play through the middle. Helped make Willock's goal with his run away and took Maguire out of the picture, really intelligent.
Begbie
That run and block of the man utd player on Willocks goal was genius.
