He would have been an incredible Longstaff replacement. Eddie: 36 N-O Scouting Network: 0

People on here were touting for Mbeumo and Huijsen last year and the year prior to that tbf

He’s a good player, no doubt.

But he’s going to win the league with Billy Gilmour and Philip Billing as team mates. That’s the standard of that league.

All the best.

Correct.

Ashley Young and Darmian in their mid 30's won leagues there.

Trawl my posts.

Scotland fan here.

I told you all that Scott McTominay wasn't a no 6. I said that his best attribute was finishing and I told you that Newcastle should've signed him.

I was mocked.

I remember someone here saying that he was a league 2 player

Yeah. Well. That "league 2 player" is on the cusp of winning Serie A and winning the player of the year award.

All the best.

In the space of two years, it’s now less embarrassing to refer to yourself as a Scotland fan than a Man Utd fan. Amazing.

Trying to insinuate he's only doing well because the standard of the league is poor is pretty pathetic man [emoji38]

You definitely don't watch any Serie A games.

Also, Napoli bring Gilmour and Billing off their bench.

Two midfielders I'd much rather have on our bench instead of some of the current options we have.

With your line of thinking, I guess the Premier League must be  dog shit if Jacob Murphy has been one of the most productive wingers this season, and the third place team has Longstaff on its bench as a squad player.

Ridiculous.

Are you ok? You seem a bit angry.

I said he’s a good player playing in a poor league. I don’t think that’s a particularly controversial view.

I do watch the odd Serie A game, but to be honest I’m a grown man with a family and a job, so it’s not really top of my priority list.

All I can think of is the Farage ‘you’re not laughing now’ meme or the Partridge ‘I had the last laugh’.

Oh God ... yes, of course. I'm clearly seething! [emoji38]

It was a nonsensical argument, that's all.

Hope the job's going well and the family is even better.

I hate that this post has made me want Inter Milan to win football matches

I didn't want him because I don't want any more manu cast offs.

More of a PSR asset than a cast off in reality.

Watched this dude for almost a decade in the Prem, he's not a good player.

Congrats on whatever improvements he may be showing in Italy but let's relax on the revisionism.

Not long before someone suggests we should sign Anthony.

This is sad if true, that league used to boast the likes of R9, Crespo, Shevchenko, Seedorf, Adriano to name but a few.

What a tragic falloff.

He hasn't been that good this season really in terms of general play. But he does have a very good eye for stealing goals when played a bit further forward.

I was never down on signing him personally. Definitely think he would have been a very good fourth midfielder to strengthen that area as would Gallagher have been who people were equally not convinced on.

However he is not really the right age profile nor would he have been a game changing signing.

Surely we would’ve had to sell someone to buy him last summer anyway? Unless we’re talking about the previous year when we bought Tonali, should we have got McTominay instead?

Isn't he just a more mobile Kevin Nolan?

Much more athletic otherwise less talented (technique/finishing/game sense)
