Not sure what's up but something is, he just doesn't look himself and hasn't for the last handful of games. Maybe a rest is needed, seems to have worked wonders for Joelinton having a few weeks off. GEFAFWISP Posted January 8 Share Posted January 8 (edited) I don't think his levels are that much different currently to his best form from last season, definitely movement, defensive actions and application hasn't really changed, but mentality and how careless/profligate he can be in possession is being magnified when he's slightly off and some easy passes end up as comically bad brainfarts. Also, probably by instruction, he tries to break lines with over the top balls but sort of blindly chips it to no one and it looks utterly abject when it doesn't come off. He's never been a metronome, and always tries to play fast, you either accept it or put Miley in his spot really. Positionally, him intertwining more with Bruno tactically has confused the shape a bit, it's a bit more chaos ball when building from the back, and it's why Thiaw or even Schar can come unstuck when no options are in front of them. Also, midfielders have a time finding forward players as they're having difficulty finding space (or trying to move at all in Gordon's case) which doesn't help any of the CMs. Eddie and Sandro will sort it. Due a goal too. Shows you what a minor drop off can do though. Hope it isn't related to him having his head turned but we'll cross that bridge this summer.
