NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Liverpool are planning for next season with Jarell Quansah on board amid speculation about the defender’s future.

The 22-year-old was the subject of strong interest from Newcastle United last summer and their admiration for him remains.

However, Liverpool are not considering the sale of the academy graduate, who is a big part of head coach Arne Slot’s plans.

according to The Athletic.

Not seen enough of Quansah to comment but I really don't rate Colwill, not really sure what he is supposed to be good at but maybe he is just having a bad season.

Pretty sure Colwill was part of the England U21 Euro winners that didn't concede a goal on route to the trophy. A cunt, too. I rate that.

Anyone else thinking that us keeping our (maybe limited supplies of…) powder dry in last three windows, the reality of playing in Europe next season, the world wide publicity/profile bump around the cup win, and the ownership tasting the reality of us being successful create the perfect conditions for a big transfer window and a markedly improved squad next year?

If Eddie likes him, I think we're at the point where trusting Eddie should be 'well ok then'.

I generally don't stress on transfers now, whether that's missing out on players or worrying about how new signings will settle. Eddie seems to find the right characters blended with the right skillset. Our scouting team have done a great job since the takeover in supporting this too. It seems like, unlike with many other managers around, provided the new player is within a certain technical window Eddie can coach them the rest of the way into our system. This takes a lot of the jeopardy out of new signings, and the support structures the club have put in place help players settle really well.

My only gripe/missed opportunity is the sale of Elliot Anderson, and that was simply bad PSR management and wouldn't have happened without PSR. I also still have a slight concern around Paul Mitchell and how he fits into the Howe/scouting team dynamic, and that won't disappear until we're through our first window where we actually bring players in who positively contribute to the squad, and I can see that the dynamic hasn't significantly changed (i.e. Mitchell is adding to the team rather than disrupting it).

With the above in mind, if we do eventually go for Quansah (at the right price) I've no doubt he'll do very well here.

Do we think David is likely given we have Isak. I just don't see him coming here to be a rotation/backup.

I've always felt he would be a likely Inter signing given the way they target frees and play two up front.

From some snippets of rumours around he’s Barca bound

Quansah feels like a Palace type signing when Guehi finally goes this summer.

There's no way they will pay £30m like. Or even if they would, why would he go there if he can come here for that much?

Isn't Quansah a Nissan car Model?

I actually have more confidence in our club picking players than I do in our fans and for about 15 years supporting this club that wasn't the case.

I remember in 2005 when Souness was offered Robbie Keane for 3.5m IIRC and wanting Anelka from Fenerbache for around 7m, Shepherd went Billy big bollocks and signed Owen for 17m or whatever.

The flash signing, but not the right signing.

Or when SBR wanted an ageing Southgate from Boro to add experiance to our defence and he was deemed too old. He also wanted to keep Speed but the club went over his head and let him leave for a pittance.

And those were before Mike Ashley.

We are in good hands. They surpassed my expectations with Bruno, Tonali and Isak, I'm sure they will again. Even if we end up going more towards potential, they will be the right players.

We can look forward to the summer. No purples out and improvements to the squad in.

I also think that part of the problem with transfer window frustration is the envious eyes towards other teams signings.

The problem is, as much as we'd like to, we can't have all the good players. Other rival clubs are going to sign players too and some of them may well be our targets. Huijsen to Liverpool for example.

You've got to focus on yourself and not what other clubs are doing. Take Spurs signing Maddison as a good example, it went tits up, not because Maddison isn't a good player but because the club isn't ran properly and their managers have been shite. It ended up being his loss, not ours.

Tosin last summer. It felt like a blow at the time but look at it now. I'd be surprised if any of us would take him now. He chose to go to a club who stick him on the bench and see him as just another player.

We will miss out on players, other clubs will take our targets but when we do make a signing, you know that the chances of success for that player are so much higher because of the coach we have.

Great point. All I wanted was a club that has professional people in all the relevant roles and has ambition to do better. In reality we got much more than that because we hit early on some great signings and an incredible manager. It's all in good hands, we can relax.

Also, Hall and Livramento will be a year better next season. I think we will see much more from Miley. Tonali will feel like he's got his first season off his back after the ban.... and fingers crossed we can have a season with a fully fit Sven Botman.

Trafford - A Silva - Ismael Saibiri - Mbuemo - Roony - then see if we can get a full back cover

Saibiri can play anywhere from AM to CF and both wings - Mbuemo pretty versatile too - Roomy long term Murphy replacement
