If we sign a top RW we are ok at second striker too imo. RW and CM is the priority for me. CB and GK we need long term replacements that could up our level. At CM and RW we need another quality body just to maintain our quality over a season. Not that fussed for a second striker. If we sign a RW we have 5 quality options for 3 positions. At CM we have 3 quality options for 3 positions. That’s shit.
The College Dropout
A 4th CM would play a lot more minutes than a second striker. Easy choice for me.

A new GK is a ceiling raiser imo. We would be a better team. a new CM is a floor raiser. It prevents us being a weaker side because of 1 issue to one of three players. The Prophet
I'd say Essential: GK, RCB, RW, ST Would be nice: CM, LB or RB

For Chelsea would you rather have Trafford/a new GK in goal with Willock LCM or a back 5. With Longstaff and Miley on the bench. Or would you rather have the Atalanta Ederson in midfield/another CM and Pope in goal against Chelsea? I know which one I’d prefer. Villa have 4 quality CM options for 2 positions. Then they have Barkley as backup too. That’s a big reason why they are still in the race. Edited 3 hours ago by The College Dropout

kingxlnc
Can see Joelinton potentially in the Saudi Pro League for sure. Not sure if this summer though as he's too important to Howe.
buzza
If we sell Longstaff and perhaps get Gomes in on a free?? Good creative midfielder and provides next level cover

I think we need a third powerhouse CM. That’s Howe’s preferred CM profile. That player can rotate with Tonali or Joelinton. Happy for Gomes to fill in for Bruno. Sibierski
For some positions, you can get away with youth/average if you’ve got exceptional players in other positions. How many top sides have we seen over the years roll out average gunk at CB (even up top) but have a legit top CM and still win, because that’s the area that dominates games. We have a big step down in midfield when one is injured / off form and it’s been shown. If we’re to take a step it does feel that is a priority position on par with RCB and RW. Can see us going big there and rolling with GKs we got and a free striker / youth to balance things out.

buzza
Watched Mcatee for city and he doesn´t stand out in any way. Typical technical footballer who prefers the pass backward than to take on his man, just doesn´t seem like an Eddie Howe player... Kimbo
I shit myself every time there’s a ball in behind our defence so a pacey CB would be my first preference. We’re going to need bargains though given how many players we need.

Sibierski
I mean, we need technical players in final third, it’s something we badly lack. £25m makes him more attractive and there’s certainly a player there to work with which would be appealing for Howe. Huge upgrade on what we've got beyond our first choice three in the middle, not sure he displaces any of them though. A decent amount of EXP for his age, at both ends of the table, and has loads of miles left in the tank.

Well he wouldn't be playing that way in Howe's system. That's my point. I imagine if they are interested it would be based a lot on his success at under 21 level for England, and some of what he did at Sheffield United, and not his Man City stint, where he has hardly featured. We need 2 - 1 starting CB as we don’t have one and 1 to replace Kelly who gives us a CB and LB option It’s simply incredible how we’ve managed a whole season without these (we’ve had bits and pieces of Botman/Kelly)
AyeDubbleYoo
I like McAtee but he seems very random still. One sublime touch followed by an inexplicable decision or mistake. Guess he's not massively comfortable in the City team still.
