Crystal Palace said we were willing to pay £60m for MG. Not sure we were anywhere near that in reality. It’s been said numerous times before EH went as far as going on record that the numbers being mentioned weren’t close.

 

So if we bid £40m+£5m for MG what is your thoughts on VH’s valuation?

Really surprised we haven't seen some early movement tbh. We've had 18 months to plan, monitor, negotiate and prepare bids.

I'm sure there's stuff happening behind the scenes but this really is dull.

Have to admit, I expected movement sooner too, plenty of time to prepare.

Ive convinced myself most clubs are waiting until July 1st and the new financial year so was kinda expecting a big calm before the storm (Cartel clubs seem to have their own rules 🙄)

Also clubs will wait until the end of June to ramp up pressure on any clubs possibly needing to sell so they can drive the price down a bit more.

Indeed, but I guess the argument runs to wait and see if there's anyone we can get in late June from a club who needs to sell and then reassess what's needed depending on if we do make an opportunistic buy.

I mentioned him a while back. Would be a good signing imo and doubt he goes for 60m too. No one’s paying that; he’s not high-profile enough to command that kind of fee with 2 years left. 45m and I reckon it gets done.

Better than Schar in aerially duals, slightly faster. If he could properly run he would be a target for top clubs.

 

For some reason I thought he was 21/22.

 

Would prefer Thiaw at a lower fee though

We waited right up to 30th June before getting rid of Anderson and Minteh.

Brighton and Chelsea have been active. Surely they will have to make some sales to balance the books. I think we are waiting for prices to drop so that we can cover multiple positions.

Chelsea are going to allow their fans to sponsor a square foot of the pitch at £1m per piece to fund buying every player we've been scouting.

It’s in Chelsea’s / the sellers interests generally to say that they’re interested even if they’re not as it drives up the price for other competitors.

 

Chelsea should receive a several year transfer window ban for crimes against football. Firstly, allowing a money launderer to launder enormous sums of money and use that to fund a football club. Secondly for totally destroying the loans system nationally and internationally. Thirdly, for being a fucking disgusting club
