NUFC Transfer Rumours

He had a horrible season at Juventus, yet he still scored 10 goals in 29 games (often coming off the bench). Juventus fans hate him and the club wants to sell him for his monstrous salary... I don't know where you read £25, but in Italy we know he can leave for €20 million and at that price I think it's a good deal. He is Slavic and like all Slavs their performances, when they leave their country, are absolutely unpredictable (at least in Italy it has always been like this).

Considering that you play in the Champions League, someone with his experience could be very useful.

Has a really good scoring record in Serie A. It's just those daft wages. He'll be on at least double our highest earner.

Wouldn't be so sure. For all we like to make out Eddie always beds players in there was an exception.......at centre forward. Played him 5 days after signing in quite a big game.

Against Liverpool too

I’m starting to think Isak will stay and we will not manage to bring in another striker.

I’m inclined to to agree. But that would be even worse than Isak leaving for less than £150m and us signing 2 strikers.

We know he struggles to stay fit, how interested he will be in actually playing will be an issue, he won’t be match fit for a while and we’d be back to square one. Where we never had Wilson fit or capable of doing anything. So Isak was our only recognised striker and so gets run into the ground.

I know he has fucked up our transfer plans up to a point. But the club have been totally incompetent in signing another striker. They knew Wilson was off a long while ago and wasn’t fit for purpose all last season, anyway.

It’s pathetic that we are looking like we’ll get to game week 2 with no replacement in for him and our best forward is currently on strike

Ah have a day off man. You traditionalist wanker.

It is the official prem way of doing it and I see it on our insta now. So it’s obviously crept into my vocabulary somehow.

Sorry the Americanism offends you. We have a good few of our colonial cousins on here. I was trying to make them feel welcome

I think it'll be a Spurs-style backup when they had Kane, rather than a backup striker who'd just scored 1 in 2 last season. Was nice to dream but I thought that's what we'd get to replace Wilson in the first place.

I didn't want them here but they're here now. So well done. Welcome

Less than 2 weeks and we're scooping around the bottom of the pan for a striker or two that needs to fire instantly. Get this wrong and I think it sets us back a year or two - wouldn't like to be Nickson/Andy Howe currently.

I’d imagine any Prem club now will just be asking for a minimum of 50% above market value for their starting striker. Due to it being so late in the window and clubs knowing we are desperate.

I just can’t see how we get one in from a PL rival. Never mind two.

Johnny come latelies, not giving any benefit of the doubt to the club about how they’ve handled striker negotiations this summer. Targeted players that didn’t want to come and we should have realised this and we should have been onto other targets way quicker before they reached peak value and became harder to prise away. Been an abject failure in that aspect of the market

Unless they are in huge PSR trouble and need to sell. It almost feels like PSR is making it even more difficult to get clubs to sell their starting striker.

Going without another striker other than Isak would be beyond stupid.

We have been lucky with injuries when we have gone short of cover previously but our luck will run out eventually.

we won’t do that.

We’ll have 2 by the end of the window, who they are remains to be seen but I have no doubt we’ll have 2.
