NUFC Transfer Rumours

I have not been entirely convinced by our midfield options for a while now but I can understand why we might go in with what we have.

I worry about what Willock could add, and I am not seeing Miley grasp his opportunities by stamping his authority on games. He was awesome when he came on the scene and played with freedom. He just seems stunted now, lacking flair and afraid to make decisive passes. It's annoying because he has the technical skills to excel. Be a bit bolder in your play.

Think he did ok passing wise apart from the odd stray one, I feel he sometimes looks like he's overwhelmed by the pace of the game and struggles with the tempo. Other than that thought he was ok when he came on, certainly no worse than anyone else had been.

Yeah, it's not a criticism per se, but we need him to contribute more than he currently is because it doesn't look like we can afford to send him on loan with our current options and the boy has all the fucking skills, it's so annoying I guess.

Disagree on Miley, he just doesn’t get enough opportunities but therein lies the issue, does he need to go out on loan?

He's had plenty of chances, he adds very little

I don’t get this line of thinking, we were prepared to bid if one of them was out for any significant amount of time which suggests we don’t have the cover but won’t bid now because there isn’t a long term injury.

I think we agree here. We need another CM. As someone said earler neither Willock or Miley are good enough.

Am I missing something with all this Miley criticism after today's match? As Miley wasn’t the issue in the middle today, let’s be frank Bruno had a stinker. Whether it’s because Monday took so much out of him, or maybe Longstaff's inside knowledge helped nullify him. But Miley was not the issue in midfield during today's game

Frank Bruno doesn't play for us. 😂

You know what a mean Ghandi.

Miley is a bairn, man. Needs all the time and patience at this stage.

Willock offers next to nothing for us, however

I think Willock, Murphy, Trippier and Barnes will have to be the next to move on. January or end of season. Replace them with some genuine quality.

We supposedly replaced Murphy with quality and he’s had to brought back in.

Will probably cost a lot to replace the lot. Also Murphy and Barnes' goal contributions are very good. We just need central forwards who can finish chances and link up well with them.

We've been banging on about rotation being Howe's weakness for ages. Bringing in a player whose going to have no games for 2 weeks over someone who'll be playing intentional football seems the sound sort of opportunity to do it.

Is agree with that. I’m still not quite sure where Barnes fits in, his flashes are too inconsistent. Willock unfortunately I just don’t think is good enough.

Which one player would this be? Presuming he isn’t talking about a striker if Isak is still here.

He’s definitely talking about a striker, IMO, but it’s been clear for a while that we definitely have been looking for another midfielder too. Whether we get both I doubt, at this stage.

It’s imperative we get another striker

Not convinced think he thought Elanga and Barnes would be able to cause bigger problems off the bench with the game broken up.

Regardless never seen anything from Elanga so far to say he’s any better than Murphy in any metric apart from pace.

That’s just complete nonsense, he’s far better at dribbling, far better at carrying the ball and he can use both feet to cross and shoot. Come back to your post at the end of the season and quote it for me and @me and we can pick this conversation back up then

Gordon isn’t ideal, but I’d rather have him as a 2nd striker if it meant we signed someone like El Khanoussi who can provide something different in our attack.

Then evaluate a long term striker to work with Woltermade for January.
