We need players who can get that service to them and create cha ces

I am hoping if we sell Osula we can get another striker through the door.

No point to cross the ball if A) crossing is from poor position as we often did against ManU B) if it's against static deep lying defence that is organized If we defend 6-3-1 and you put Botman and Burn to defend those kind of crosses against Haaland, they will clear those balls for a week without problem. Tsunami
We need a midfielder who can break lines and travel with the ball. Willock could do it, I suspect we think Ramsey will be able to do it. We are also directing play down the left to an inverted winger who has no end product and down the right to a limited player who has lost his target man or a new winger who just isn’t up to it. Our transfer business was largely poor but we should acknowledge that we struggle to attract players to come here. Semenyo had a lot of interest in him over the summer, no idea if we enquired but another £10M plus £5M add on’s, on top of what we paid for Elanga, gets him in the January window. I find that really puzzling.
duo
We've not scored enough goals because we lack a clinical striker - yes Wissa is back but I still think we need another.
The Prophet
Just now, duo said: We've not scored enough goals because we lack a clinical striker - yes Wissa is back but I still think we need another. I respectfully disagree. We're not creating enough chances for a striker to thrive.
Pilko
Our supply line in open play comes exclusively from the wingers as there's no creativity in the middle of the park. The three wingers who are supposed to supply are bang out of form and the one who tends to add goals can't get on the pitch in his favoured position because the manager won't remove Gordon. That's the two issues and until we either get some creativity into our midfield, wait for our wide men to come into form or buy better ones it'll be the same frustrations every week. Kimbo
I don’t know yet if either of our strikers will be up to it long term, and tbh I prefer more physical strikers like Mateta. There’s zero chance we’re signing a starting striker in the next 18 months though IMO. Maybe a kid to replace Osula, but they will barely play. Just needs to get fit. Watching Igor Thiago yesterday for Brentford was a display of everything you want in your #9. Bournemouth’s centre backs must have PTSD off the combo of him and Schade battering them physically and mentally.

The Prophet
Look at Wissa on Friday. He took up two or three really good positions, but Gordon and Barnes fluffed the final ball.

On what planet are we signing another senior striker to get minutes ahead of those two?! If Osula goes. Maybe he will be replaced by another younger, project type of player. But we have plenty of other areas that need investment first and positions where we haven’t just dropped £120m.

Lush Vlad
5 minutes ago, duo said: I am not saying we will - just think we need one. We rarely look like scoring. Which is more down to our attacking plan relying purely on the right hand side triangle and a cut back, a cross from the byline from the left or aimless deep crosses. Away games in particular. We have created absolutely fuck all so far this season. Woltemade often looking isolated and in the small amount of time Wissa has had on the pitch. He has barely had a kick. Despite some great movement and runs in behind. Couldn’t disagree more on needing another striker. We need to improve the service to them. We have no guile from midfield and our wide men can’t beat a full back and usually play far too wide and/or deep, anyway. Woltemade does need to work on his movement at times and Wissa needs to stay fit and get meaningful minutes, mind.
Sibierski
There’s no way we’re getting another striker unless Howe is 100% going 4-2-3-1. That for me would be a reason to then get another striker because Wolte will effectively be playing loads as a 10, so need someone to ease work load off Wissa. But it then requires a CM that can progress the ball from deep. Also for me, it would mean Ramsey long term being a back up LW, because Miley is the ideal player to play the 10 as the option to Wolte rather than Ramsey, and Ramsey is not suited for a 2. We really need Gordon to find the net again and based on above the squad looking like this next season. Pope / GK Tino / Murphy Hall / LB Botman / Thaiw / Burn / CB Bruno / Tonali / Joelinton /CM Wolte / Miley Gordon / Ramsey Elanga / RW Wissa / ST Would mean Barnes leaving which would be harsh, but medium term you have to bank on Gordon over him. Murphy more than capable back up RB in his final year of deal and it allows us to correct the RW situation. Would also mean we can keep Joelinton for one more year as a back up CM destroyer and not rock the boat too much by losing too many of the OGs (seeing Trippier / Schar / Lascelles will all be off). When Bruno first arrived, he was regularly crashing into the box. Willock done it loads during his peak, Longstaff was always there (but then largely poor with the positions he found himself in), Tonali has done it. Then this season (and it was shifting last season as a start) it’s non existent. When we played Bilbao at home, Joelinton was back to doing that. But that’s more an anomaly this season. Zero
I think another attacking mind RB would be much more useful than a back up ST at this moment.
