What if we missed out on Europe only by a point or something because we didn't strengthen and that then led to losing Isak or others in the summer? 

 

As the expression goes "sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate" yeah it could leave us at risk of a sale or points deduction if it goes tits up, or we could see this season as a massive opportunity to capitalise on how tight the Ieague is and try and snatch 5th.

 

Think the first team has been a little stale for awhile. I think even just one fresh face at first team or close to level would be a nice boost going into the remainder of the season. I would hope the club are looking to move on dead weight and free up funds for atleast that personally.

Mentioned it already a few pages back, but not bringing in a Striker in January will almost certainly come back to bite us. Who would be a viable option I've no idea, hopefully Eddie and co realise it's a must and are working on it.

We need a new player or two to liven up the squad and introduce some new energy around the place as much as we need them actually on the pitch, to be honest.

No signings without sales according to Howe for the last few pressers. Waugh says Longstaff is likely to go but who’s bidding? Kind of seems like we’d need to get rid of two fringers to buy a first team ready player.

I was under the impression we were pretty desperate for right winger. So surprised people would be willing to loan back if we managed to sign that kid.

 

Think would be naive to assume Murphy will be able to keep up this form just based on his last few games. Not to mention the need for rotation also even if he did.

Think it’s more the bigger picture and if it meant a long term star and we suck it up short term with what we’ve got, I’m for that. 

 

We rolled the dice last winter by keeping players when the sales should’ve happened, and it didn’t help us. So there’s little reason to roll the dice again.

Was it Sissoko that we signed on a pre contract as he was in the final 6 months of his contract then signed him permanently on the cheap shortly afterwards?

That ship has sailed imo. 

Don't think there is a big club that hasnt been linked with him. He fancies Barca by all accounts. 

 

Shame as I think he would be perfect for us and Howe perfect for him.

Him and Angel Gomes will be in massive demand. Shame as he'd be a good replacement for crippled Callum.

Eddie seemed a bit coy on the Dubravka rumours, do wonder if thats really a move that could happen, as if at Dubravkas age he wouldn't want to double his wages, no brainer for the player.

Craig Hope was saying they're prepared to let him go this window if he wants to (and it sounds like he will) but he thinks it'll be nearer the end of Jan so Pope can come back first.

The way I read it from EH is Dubravka is gone as soon as Pope is fit.

 

Only thing else I can see happening this window is Miggy out for a new RW but who knows. Things can change quickly in a transfer window depending on other clubs wants and needs.

Sounds like they’re hoping Pope is back for the Spurs game. So that would mean Dubravka can move on. 

I can’t see him being back so soon, mind.

Although Gomes profile type is more like Bruno so it could be a good move for PSR to get him in and sell Bruno for Xm
