For those that like this deal what is the right price for it?

Brentford are obviously tough to bargain with and allegedly told forest 50m.

35m max.

Not at all sure about the talk over the last few pages on Sesko and Ramos. I don't think our plan was to ever spend big on a more rigid, traditional striker profile. Ekitike and Joao Pedro were unique propositions as players we had pursued before who could play both with and in lieu of Isak proficiently. I don't think Sesko or Ramos are at all a similar profile to Joao Pedro or Ekitike, they both seem to thrive on intelligent movement and finishing. They're hardly the versatile playmaker types. Spending £70m+ on either them wouldn't make much sense or align with the strategy we clearly have in mind imo.

Added bonus of this signing would be further complicating Man United's move for Mbeumo, as they are not keen on losing both this summer :D

Best guess:

£35m opening bid for Wissa rejected

Spurs get involved

£45m plus clauses bid accepted

Man U mega bid for Mbuemo accepted

Brentford pull out of Wissa sale

We then learn he only wanted Spurs anyway

Both Delap and Wissa aren't really of the versatile playmaker profile either though, so difficult to say that is purely what it comes down to.

Quite different situations I think, Delap was an opportunistic signing at a low fee. Wissa isn't the typical striker, he is capable both out wide and in a more playmaker style role with his ball-carrying abilities. He's a lot more versatile and dynamic than Sesko or Ramos.

£30-£35m it's a no-brainer for me. Anything north of £40m would have me a bit sketchy, £50m (which I suspect would be the price) would be daft.

He'd jump at the chance to come here, that's for sure. Champions League football alone, and he'd probably understand he would be an understudy who'll still enjoy plenty minutes.

People will love this but this isn't the move for me.

Too old, no resale value.

Good player and would do well for us, but as you said too old, and the price is apparently 50 odd million.

Eh? Is he not in the last year of his contract? Or have I imagined that?

Was reading a discussion between PSG fans recently where they all agreed they want to keep him and think he's great but acknowledge he deserves to go somewhere where he can play as a starter. Good sign. I don't think he's played as a second striker regularly but apparently has the right attributes to. Definitely has good link-up play with the midfield at PSG. Would be exciting to go for him.

I dont think wed have primary and secondary strikers. On the occasions we'd play both theyd work off each other l. Reading each other to learn which one is in the optimum position to drop or push.
