NUFC Transfer Rumours

I bloody hope so - going from Ekitike to Wissa is a bit depressing.

It’s not great but we’ve kept Isak, get Trafford and a quality centre half and add Wissa it’s still probably the best Newcastle squad since Keegan rocked up

Personally think £35m is already overspending on Wissa without even getting closer to Brentford’s valuation. All things considered I view him at present as only making sense under £30m as it’s throwing away cash for future players. I hate having to think about the financial implications of transfers but given that it has dominated things since our takeover there’s no choice

We gave them a bag and and they are about to get another now the cats out of the bag with MGW.

Yeah, they may well be prepared to outbid us and/or Spurs, but if it comes down to player choice, they’re surely a distant third.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal were all in the mix earlier in the summer.

It's only recently all three clubs have focused on other options.

It could almost be like all three clubs enquired for Sesko but been told he’s agreed a deal elsewhere and not interested, but don’t know the club.

Then in the background as we can’t get price agreed, gone for Pedro / Etitike to tell Red Bull we are happy to go elsewhere if demands don’t drop.

Might not be so bad spread over a 5 year contract, plus if we can use the extra funds on a keeper, defender, midfielder it might be a cracking window by default.

You'd think so aye, it's a strange one for he's obviously a very good player but the price and the age put me off and I think we have to be long term pragmatic thinkers to reach our goals and this kind of fly's in the face of that.

Favourable payment terms will not bridge a 15m gap.

Well no one knows that for certain.

So far they've only received a £25 million bid for him, so we don't even know how staunchly they will hold to that £50 million valuation if a team bids higher than that with a full upfront payment.

We'll soon find out.

Your absolutely right on that, we don't know if the asking price is true. If it is, I wouldn't expect this to happen mind. Theyve had Manchester United holding on to there dicks for a month

Wouldn't sign any AFCON players.

Aye let’s rule out a whole continent of players because they’ll be missing for a few weeks every couple of years.

Taking some of the snippets some journos have said about having targets at different values I hope that going for a cheaper option in wissa means there is more money to spend on say a midfielder etc.

Seems like a massive come down from a 23 year old hot prospect to a soon to be 29 year old who has no resale value when we are done with them in 3 or 4 years (resale value does matter in my opinion in psr terms and when your paying a prem premium)

Still if Eddie wants him and he's on the list of identified targets and not a panic pivot I can get behind it.

Issue of a few clubs being keen and selling club value doesn't sound a recipe for a quick resolution when we are running out of time this can't get dragged out.

I don't really understand what Man United are doing really. Brentford asked for £65 million for a guy that just scored 20 goals in the Prem and has been a solid performer for a few years now.

They aren't even being unreasonable with that valuation when you look at the fees for Elanga and Kudus. Think it's Man United ballsing that up.

With the Wissa fee, I did wonder if that was so high initially because they were anticipating Mbeumo had pretty much left already, but now that's been on hold for ages, perhaps there's a bit more flexibility with Wissa, and maybe they then shut down the Mbeumo move altogether, which would be just brilliant.
