This is bonkers. Try for an up and coming forward, 23 years old but no PL experience ,then pivot to a 29 year old with loads of pl experience, then potentially to a young target man forward with no pl experience. Just sign Kuqi on a free and be done with it.

Think Wissa is more of a striker/left winger though. Not really a playmaker in the Pedro and Ekitike mould.

Not quite in the Ekitike, Pedro mould, I agree, but I think the key point here is genuine versatility in a forward option, one who is proficient in multiple positions. That appears to be our strategy which negates spending big on a striker whom if Isak is fit all season will not see an awful lot of game time.

Isak can't play 60+ games. Not at his top level anyways. Every season we have had him so far he has missed games and also played with knocks/not 100% loads of times.

Wissa could play a key role for 3 seasons.  You can’t be wedded to an inflexible strategy imo. Sometimes you work outside of it to benefit the team in the short term

I'd really enjoy us getting Wissa in the next few days and then Brentford refusing to sell Mbeumo because of that. 

 

Also, Sesko being rumoured is crazy. That would be more insane than Isak and Ekitike. Even less likely IMO.

I think Sesko's wage demands rule him out, the Wissa links don't make sense either compared to our profile for that position so far this window.

Yeah this is the only thing that would mitigate for that and gives us an exit fee. I would say, and not to stereotype, but African/South American players are more likely to make this kind of move too.

We haven't fannied about when it was clear Ekitike wasn't gonna happen and moved onto the next target straight away. Good stuff.

Wissa would make it a quadruple of hijacked bids by cartel clubs this summer. Quintuple if we count Chelsea twice for Delap and Pedro. 

 

Because I think Spurs have the money, the CL pull, the fact he can stay in London so doesn't have to relocate his family and also chance to link up with the manager he knows well again.

 

Bit annoying that the one summer we finally had money to do some business again, most of our first choice targets are being pinched.

Yes their 1+1 = 3 journalism will always come up with these answers. Franks at Spurs so immediately any Brentford player will prefer Spurs regardless of anything else.
