toontownman
Its bare minimum in the sense this is what was needed to try and keep up. All the sides above us last season have leveled up heavily. So have other clubs around us. What I would say of pretty much all the players we have brought in is: - None of them are coming as out of favour at previous clubs, infact most clubs didnt want to sell - None are journeyman bouncing around. - All come with confidence from last season (maybe Ramsey aside) - We have been largely tactical and other than Wissa haven't overpaid ridiculously. There is no window that "slams shut" that we don't think, "could have done with a couple more". Another Mid and versatile young striker would have been perfect. LB and CB (with Lascelles out) if we are being really greedy. Far from a disaster in the end given everything thats gone on. Will need 1 or 2 more in January though. If you take pens out of it there isnt much difference in Wissa last season and Isak from goals. Woltemade christ knows but he looks great and the option weve been crying out for to unlock low blocks. We didn’t sell them Haaland (we can admit he's streets ahead now that Isak's gone) and I’m not convinced Isak actually pushes the needle that much further for them than Ekitike already has done. I actually reckon them replacing Konate with Guehi providing it goes through will be more important business for them.

I'm probably one of Ramsdales biggest fans on here (was of pope before he signed as well) but it's not that upgrade we needed, or long term solution, and we still have to pay for him next year. Thaiw isn't going to improve the starting xi. He's not as good as botman and isn't as essential as schar. If he takes schar place on merit by the end of the season I'll be delighted. Elanga is an upgrade on moggy, but in terms of goals and assists, again he'll do well to beat Murphy. Think for the price, we'd have done better going elsewhere. Don't get Ramsey as a signing. Position, talent or injury record. Slight upgrade on willock, but not the xi. Wissa is a massive downgrade on isak, but Tbf to him, anyone would be and that's the issue. Murphy had a purple season he isn't going to do that every season if ever again. Elangas numbers are solid. Might take him a while to get up to speed and Ill give him the chance to prove himself along with the rest as we havent really made any bad signings since the takeover. If anyone beats Murphy's output last season, then they are doing exceedingly well. Some on here act like that's average for a winger. Elanga has produced somewhat similar over two seasons.
