NUFC Transfer Rumours

The issue with this view is that it places Woltemade as the creator and the wingers as the beneficiaries when for the most part it needs to be the other way round.

The question is how do we get Woltemade scoring more goals?

Alot of his goal from intricate one touch passing in and around the box, which is a difficult skill that not all players have in their locker and I think Murphy and Elanga dont quite fit that bill as more traditional wingers, although Im not saying Elanga isnt capable of that, just that I dont think its his strength.

Gordon and especially Barnes certainly have it.

I'm not sure Gordon does have the intricate interplay. From what I saw of Woltemade in Germany it wasn't that sort of interplay by others as much as him laying off for them or him on his own. Also you have to have more to your game than that, think Kane and the variety of goals and chances he gets.

Then we might need another LW as well then.

But in all seriousness, Murphy still doesnt fit the bill so one we might look to upgrade in pursuit of getting the best out of Big Nick

Murphy would do well with Wissa you'd think but if the plan is to play Woltemade and Wissa then its unlikely to be 433...... which Eddie has alluded to a few times ie he said he wanted to play Isak and Ekitike.

Fwiw I don't think Eddie has a final ideal as in a best XI in general but a best XI for each individual game and thats what we are working towards.

We were loosely linked with Acheampong last season weren't we? Would love him like, though feel like he's getting enough minutes where Chelsea will want to keep him or another club could get him

Semenyo is going to have a season like Mbeumo last season, 20+ prem goals and everyone will be wanting him. Though seen he has a 5 year deal remaining. Wonder if he has a release clause

Even despite the investment in the summer huge future proofing still required. We have 2 ageing CB’s and Botman’s contract is running down.

We need our future goalkeeper, another fullback preferably on the right, attacking midfielder, and a young striker with pace. Bruno’s not getting younger either, to be able to rotate him another technical midfielder would be massive for us.

I still think both wide forward positions will need looking at again, how long do we rely on Barnes,Murphy and is Elanga the answer?

Hopefully, some clever investment means not all these signings need to be 50 million plus players.

The Semenyo ship has sailed for us now, sadly enough I think he goes to Liverpool next summer.

Man City if they had any common sense would be swooping to seal Iraola and Semenyo for next summer.

Perfect manager for them post Pep, and a much needed goal outlet from wide.

There'll be a lot of competition for him but do you reckon we'd go back in Guehi in the summer on a free?

Can't see him picking us over other clubs he's being linked with but he seemed open to it last summer so might be worth a try

Well get blown out the water for anything like that vs likes of Liverpool, be 100k more a week elsewhere for example.

If Thiaw continues like he has started I would suspect any CB signing would be on the younger side and probably less established.

We have Thiaw now.

Real Madrid or Man City would be my bets now for Guehi. Feels Liverpool have missed the boat on him, similar to us previously. Very rarely do sides target a player so heavily one summer (publicly miss out), then get them the next summer.

Think the only way we'd have a chance to get him is if the Botman rumours are true and he joins Liverpool. But we've seen this summer how that story goes and he'd probably go to Liverpool as well.

Botman to Liverpool rumours ffs? I hadn’t heard that

It was the equivalent of nufc blog for the dippers suggesting that they had a shortlist of players and he was at the top. A few twitter folk started posting about it.

It’s nothing more than that for now. If their scummy club were behind it, it’s more likely to try and unsettle him while his contract is up in the air. Or could be agent games to add pressure.
