NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

I understand why the majority of our business needs to be U25s who are more likely to appreciate in value but seeing Trippier the other night has strengthened my opinion (that I've expressed previously) that we absolutely need one or two experienced pros.

That doesn't have to be the dreaded "Premier League experience" but having a player who's been there & done that at the top level can be hugely beneficial to the squad overall.

We have a squad full of experienced pros though.

Not for long though. Trippier, Burn, Schar, Pope - all either on the way out or likely to see reduced minutes going forwards.

Someone 28/29/30 who can still perform for a couple of seasons

Burn will be extended. Popes contract doesn't expire until the end of next season. Schar might also get a new deal.

Most of our squad have more than 100 senior top right appearances. One thing we are not short of is experience imo.

I think we should be looking to raid Forest before Spurs - Gibbs-White, Aina and Murillo would all be top additions. Archie Gray would give us some well need cover in multiple positions but other than him, i think i'd steer clear of Spurs players - they're all soft as shite.

Anderson should be at the top of that list

Bruno and Joelinton are in that category

He should definitely be on the list but i'd still take MGW over him - we need more end product, not more work rate. It would also sting like a bitch having to pay £70m for a player we had to flog for peanuts and who came through our own academy though.

I think Anderson is a bit too similar to Bruno and Tonali really. Ideally would like to add a bit more craft and movement.

Unless we sell Tonali I can’t see us spending massive money on a CM TBH. We have excellent options there, maybe with one addition who has a bit more attacking technique.

Ideally we can get someone that plays from right of the front three instead. Someone that isn’t just a speed merchant and actually wants the ball at his feet to create and have some positional flexibility. I don’t know who that player is, but I liken it to someone similar to Olise

In theory the options are good, but it hasn't born out in reality. I think holding onto players who have the team in the bottom half of the table is asking to stay there.

There's too many players who haven't performed and if you want to be in genuine contention for top 4 next season you have to be more ruthless than that. Hell I would argue nobody has been "excellent" this year.

Surely Gibbs White goes this summer too. Feels like he's been at Forest one season too long

Reijnders, who seems to have lost Guardiola's trust and could be sold, would be the perfect midfielder for you... much more than Anderson.

He'll be on insane wages though, and that's even assuming City are open to sale.

Not sure what Rico Lewis is up to these days but he'd be a smart buy if he can get back to last season's form. Young, can cover RB and midfield, good on the ball.

Yes, this has been a poor season. But Tonali, Bruno, Joelinton, Miley and Ramsey is still a very good set of players.

Would love but seems no chance.

A proper centre forward. Would be all for this. May work better for Elanga too having a more typical target to work with.

Another non-scoring striker past his peak is exactly what we need [emoji38]

29 in September too

Not sure on that, Solanke and Elanga screams midtable to me.

Just saw that. Yep, probably BS then given the profile we’re after. Problem is - who is the solution for a near guaranteed goalscorer from the continent that would cost half that?

I’ll leave it to more of our WhyAyeScout folks to provide an alternative - I’m not au fait with someone on the continent who can properly plug the Isak gap.
