Pilko
Solanke Hope that's just lazy journalism. English & ex Bournemouth= Newcastle throw big money at.
Menace
If he wasn't at Tottenham he's exactly the type of player I would've expected Howe to go for.

Optimistic Nut
I like him, think he's a Howe striker and would get us 15-20 in the league.
Kimbo
Solanke seems to be injured a lot these days. I would take him if he was cheap, which he wouldn’t be.

Big fat NO from me and very much hope it’s the media putting 2 and 2 together and getting 334.
Virtua Stiva
Seems like a lazy link to me but it also seems like a deal we may pursue if we could get him on the cheap. People also had similar reservations about Calvert-Lewin and he’s been very good at Leeds. Sometimes players need new surroundings

I would go: GK Striker RW You assuming nobody leaves? I'd be looking at who we would be happy in our first xi and first replacements this time next year then go from there. For me it's 2 keepers, 2 strikers, 2 right wingers, 2 back up full backs, 2 back up centre backs and then a centre mid. That's assuming none of Tino, Hall, Gordon, Tonali, Bruno leaves. If we have more than half of Burn, Pope, Trips, either Joe, any of our right wingers, Wissa, Schar as regulars in a years time we are in trouble

The Prophet
30 minutes ago, SUPERTOON said: Would you be confident going into next season with Wolt and Wissa as our striker options? Good question. Err, wouldn't say confident, but I think they'll be much better. Wissa will have a full pre-season under his belt and Wolt should have had about half of that. I don't think it's any more risky than relying on a new striker from abroad for example.

You could make an argument for Bruno, Joelinton, Ramsey, Miley as a serviceable 4 in a no Europe year, but of any of the others leave them they'd be number one priority to replace. Somebody mentioned that we need a summer like a newly promoted team and I genuinely think we're not far off that bit we wasted the windfall from champions league and Isak that would have funded it, along with the transitional season that we can afford to have once every few years but not 2 in a row. Oh and it's a world cup year that is also likely to see a number of managerial changes so it's the worst possible year to do it. Other than that, it's easy! Interpolic
I'm all for signing players from relegated clubs, in our position we need to be opportunistic to get value for money. We did it with Tino and Barnes and they're often the right moves imo. Obviously they need to be the right player with the right mentality, i.e. Not a big reason why that club went down in the first place.

Wissa had a full 6 week pre season post injury, then 2 additional months on top - how much more time does he need? He’ll be 50 by the time he’s up to speed I’ve had enough with quite a few players in this squad - they simply aren’t good enough now
Kimbo
I could probably make quite a long list of players I would take from the current bottom 5, it can be a decent place to shop. Solanke just wouldn’t make it. In fact I’ll make a list because I’m bored. Optimistic Nut
Honestly thought he was 25-26, 29 a month into next season. Wouldn't pay more than £40m.

We can't plead PSR poverty and then spunk untold fortunes on the likes of Wissa, Elanga and Solanke.
