He, was banging them in not long ago do people forget these things. Was a real threat in the Premier league. Plus he's still a good age

He's not going to be fit physically or mentally.

Someone like Neves will have an eye on the Euros squad and has extra motivation to get fit.

I assume Serbia will be there but Mitrovic will start if he's not injured anyway.

Newcastle United are monitoring Dominic Calvert-Lewin's situation at Everton as the England striker, 26, is on their list of potential targets for next summer. (TeamTalk)

Love a bit of monitoring. A good player, if he could stay fit which seemingly he can't he could be a great player.

DCL is made of rice paper and Blu Tack.

Doesn't matter how good a player he is, you can't trust him to run 50 yards without his legs exploding. In a laid-back, calm side then maybe he can contribute in a limited way, but he'd not get past 10 minutes in our uber-press system before at least one limb fell off.

Ridiculous link. Whoever wrote it should be launched into the sea.

Between Isak, Wilson, and DCL, we may be able to cobble together a single striker that plays 38 matches.

He's worth a punt, none the less. Very strong in the air, and we rely a fair bit on crosses and set pieces.

We don’t need to take punts anymore though surely, his wages wouldn’t be cheap and you just tie your hands further FFP wise with a perma crock.

Mugging Wilson off and making him 3rd choice striker to bring in a highly likely unfit Mitrovic for 5 months would literally be absurd.

Good the proper football is back so all these so called journalists making shit up with nowt better to do can take a day off!

Not worth a punt. Wouldn't take him for free (kind of). We´re a proper club now and he's not the type for us going forward long term.

It seems to me that we're not yet in a position to shop at the very highest end of the market. One striker systems are now the norm, and you need a very good all-rounder to do all aspects of the role well. There's not that many around, and they attract a lot of interest.

Yes, there are injury concerns about Calvert-Lewin, but that may mean that he's gettable for us, with other clubs looking elsewhere. As far as I can see, fitness is the only problem - he's a very talented player. In our position, we may have to take a risk or two.

Calvert-Lewin is a load of shite. The striker situation should have been sorted in the summer with the return of Adam Armstrong and Anthony Gordon probably going the other way on loan as a makeweight. As it turns out injuries and his own commitment and good form have made Gordon a crucial part of the first team, but we all know how much a side suffers from a lack of focal point up top. Adam Armstrong is a proven goal-getter albeit at a lower level of the game, he's home grown and wouldn't mind playing backup and he's also just one centimetre shorter than Sergio Aguero.

No chance the club were going to go sign Gordon in January only to use him as a bargaining chip to get Adam Armstrong. Another striker was needed, but getting one to suit our system may have not been doable for an acceptable cost. While  DCL would just be another to add to the revolving of door of our Physio room alongside the rest of our strikers.
