I've been pretty disappointed with Tino TBH, maybe my expectations were too high. His defending is solid but he's so average going forward.

That said, we won't change him so I'm hoping we get a chance to see him play with a proper technical RW next season.

his defending 1v1 is very good (although hasn't been as good as last season), but positionally he's not particularly good.

He has to improve in a lot of areas to be honest.

He hit the byline yesterday and put in a great cross for Willock on his left foot (think it was Tino?). Throughout game he was taking players on, like the little dink over Minteh. Confidence levels were high and I 100% believe it's having a top player like Gordon in front of him. Top players bounce off one another, just don't need to think. Can't be understated that despite Murphy uses and output this season, it's no where near Gordon intelligence and overall ability.

Yeah, my hope is that he progresses next season with a technical RW coming in.

Despite being way behind the rest of the others and switching off for their winning goal, thought he was one of our better players yesterday.

He was clearly shattered by that point.

In a strange way I'd feel more confident with him defensively up against Salah than Hall.  Just from a pure 1v1 aspect, not from all the other elements Hall brings to the side that we will miss.

But that means Trippier on the other side and I can see Diaz or Gakpo having him on toast unfortunately.

Put an RW with real quality in front of him and watch him shine, you guys underplay the importance of team dynamics. He's a stud.

So frustratingly not on the same wavelength as anyone around him going forward to often, needs to improve in this aspect.

Whether he plays on the right or the left it’s a consistent issue. He is defensively talented but we have not extracted enough of him in the final third yet, there must be more to come from him.

He is so confident one v one defending and he is actually great driving with the ball. But going forward, he has become one of our worst players this season. Looks scared to do anything, so often doesn’t. Not the same as I remember last season.

Always on his heels and like he is disconnected from it all and not paying attention.

Hopefully he can find his rhythm a bit before Sunday. We’re going to need him defensively.

I feel like the only version of attacking play he's comfortably with is dribbling towards the goal. But when that's not an option (and it's usually not for a fullback) then he greatly struggles with decision making and then, bizarrely, if he does make the right decision he often loses all technical ability in those moments.

He's not a left back so always gonna look poor when he can't even cross with his right foot. Still a top player and will be our right back for years to come.

Such a great defender 1v1 his timing is immaculate, his positioning is stilla bit iffy but the main issue has to be the overlap, why is he so scared to dink one into the box? Always looking to cut back and play it back infield and has slowed down a few counters that should have amounted to more. Really needs to work on his attacking game but he's still learning, I have every confidence in Howe to bring him on again.

Just a little disappointed after last season he seems to have regressed slightly.

He did well in defense and poor in attack, so a typical Tino performance, but i'm happy with him on the left for the final.

It's the final pass - just not decisive enough always hold onto the ball too long

Going forward hes just as poor on the right. Got some huge performances playing on the left.

I think 1 on 1 defensively he’s excellent and can shut down the best but going forward he’s sloppy as anything a lot of the time. Headless chicken then just losing the ball.

Doesn't help he's played on the left and basically refuses/can't use his left foot.

He got into some decent positions tonight for a cross into the box but kept cutting back and looking for the pass.

Think we'd have been served better getting Targett match fit for the final, but it is what it is. Tino is still great defensively, and he was showing for the ball all night.
