I thought it was almost a carbon copy of his last 2-3 games. A bit frustrating at times and drifted in and out of the game. Whilst simultaneously being involved in

some way in most of our decent attacking play.

Even when it doesn’t come off. For long spells in our games. He basically seems  to be one of the only ones creating anything or actually shooting

I think he needs a rest in the next period, maybe not Qarabaq but definitely against City.

id rest him mid week, go 3 at the back with Hall and Elanga wingbacks (needs must!).

or stick little Joe on the left and Elanga right if we go 4 at the back

Gordon up top for this one.

There was no reason to play him as much as we did tonight, he looked shattered towards the end.

Hopefully he doesn't start on the weekend (just to not risk injuring him).

Think this guy has been incredibly disappointing of late.

Yet again he adds nothing. Got into some great positions and fluffs the shot.

Don't think he has a single goal contribution outside of Qarabag, since being moved back onto his supposed favoured left side.

Very streaky player, awesome when he’s on a heater though. That effort when he was in acres of space was so bad.

I think his relative drop off in goals has effected his decision making a bit. A Barnes that's in form either buries that chance in the first half or squares it to Elanga.

The goals and assists have definitely dried up, bar Qarabag.  But he is still regularly involved in a lot of our attacking play.  Whether that is getting decent enough crosses in, getting shots off or missing chances.

Even when he is a bit out of form like he is now.  I still feel like he is more likely to make things happen than almost all of our players.  He is just never going to be the type to beat players down the line for skill or with pace.  Never been his game.  So when it isn't coming off, he looks a bit poor and people like to say he's 'disappeared'.  Which is a bit of a throwaway comment, IMO.

I also think teams are really starting to take him and in particular, Hall, seriously.  That left side gets a lot of attention.  Whereas we usually offer fuck all down the right.  Which has been a theme for a while and pre-dates this season.

Disappeared off page one, a bit like his recent performances

Considering he has Hall supporting him and overlapping down that left side, I find it very surprising he isn't able to find more space to be more of a threat.

The last few games, outside of Qarabag, hardly anything has come down that left side. A big fuss was made about him playing on the left, but it hasn't really made a difference so far.

He doesn't really make the sort of gaffes that stick out like Elanga's and so avoids the same level of criticism, but in truth he isn't as involved in the games or as much of a danger at the minute.

Could really do with his goal threat too, with Gordoon upfront, who isn't a natural goal scorer. Hope he figures it out in the upcoming games down the stretch.

The right side has seen less effectiveness all season regardless of who's on that wing. Might be a result of losing Tino's ball carrying ability at pace, but even the midfield doesn't seem to find the spaces between the lines on that side.

Elanga seems to get starved of the ball unless he comes inside, so maybe he needs to do more of that.
