Also occurred 9 years ago and inflation exists

Aye but it’s not really similar.  Shaw was a proper premier league regular and player. A somewhat distinguished left back. Hall is not.

According to transfrmarkt and what I’ve seen on YouTube. He’s not a specialist leftback too. His PL appearances have been at LB, LM and LWB. And youth team at CM.  I wonder if we see him playing multiple positions.

It's a good purchase but that price is right at the edge of reasonable IMO. If we're paying slightly more to avoid any buy-back or sell-on clauses then I'm even happier.

I wonder if we're paying more to avoid this as well as get it as a loan with obligation to buy which helps us sting in late for a RCB.

If we plan on being a European mainstay, and I'm quite sure we do, then having young players who will qualify as "club-trained" for the purposes of European squads is worth a lot. You have to have 8 locally-trained players in your 25-man squad. 4 can be "association-trained", meaning 3 years with an English club between 15-21. The others have to be from your own club for those 3 years. We have Anderson and Miley potentially and Hall would be, too. That's enormously helpful and worth a fair bit of cash in and of itself.

Longstaff as well!

Looking forward to Eddie claiming the deal is ‘not something I’m aware of at the moment’ in his presser tomorrow.

As Hall slinks past behind him on the way to his unveiling photo shoot.

We need to start some sort of Eddie Howe Press Conference Bingo.

This is up there in the Top 5 things most likely to happen. Along with someone asking if he's seen that Tonali has been to Wetherspoons and the seaside.

Or to join Harvey Barnes’ Larn yersel  Geordie classes.

As an NUFC fan we’ve already promoted Hall into the Advanced class, he’s onto time in the ice bath to prep him for dog walking on Cambois Beach in January.
