England's Lewis Hall

The thought of playing Dan Burn or Kelly at LB now seems utterly ridiculous. Hindsight-tastic obviously, but this lad is such a good footballer, and he's absolutely bursting with confidence right now.

Very true. We’re also in a position where we can offer the pathway to first team (and national team as seen with Gordon / Tino and soon to be Hall). So should be making the most of this in next 18 months, whilst the top sides have their pathways blocked and the talent looks elsewhere.

Man Utd got a very good crop ready to come through too with likes of Lacey.

I was talking about signing Diallo last season.  Think he could be a player. Has half a chance of signing him at that time.

Grewt talent at the top academies and in the football league.

The way he’s come on so far this season has been so good to see, I personally had doubts about him defensively whenever he played last season and expected him to not be starting games yet. The talent was clearly there but I saw him need more time.

Hes becoming the new Trippier but on the left, it’s huge for us. Impressive stuff.

I like him. Far from the finished article and will likely always have defensive weaknesses, but he brings a lovely balance to the side.

It's helped put an end to the Burn at LB nonsense. I know we got top 4 with that, but the rest of the squad was operating at a completely different level, plus he had the 2 Joe's helping lock down that left side plus Botman next to him to support.

Burn at LB in this current squad would be a car crash, as we saw many times last season. That's no slight on Burn either, he's a better CB than he is LB and suits that role better.

Although, with no disrespect to him, to move forward we need the old Botman back fit and and firing and young athletic partner to succeed Schar.

Same. Was far from convinced defensively. Especially against moire dynamic and direct wingers.

His performance against Madueke had me sold though. Noticed he defended with a lot more savvy in that game.

Didn't get too tight or dive in all the time, but at the same time didn't just back off all the way into the box either. Had a very nice balance and timed his close downs well.

He is picking things up defensively and has improved a lot.

Happy to see him doing so well

Far too many as is often the case way too quick to write him off despite him being a bairn

He hasn't been playing LB for long but it's clearly he's technically good and has shown huge improvements in his time here, excited to see how good he can be in a couple of years as he gets stronger and a lot more familiar with the defensive side of the game

He's possibly the most talented player I've ever thought might cost us a goal at any second.

His talent on the ball is phenomenal. I've said before that he's the closest player to Bruno we have in terms of awareness, close control etc. His short and long range passing is also fantastic. I know he loses it from time to time but I can live with that because he's trying to play the right pass, rather than the safest one.

If he can iron out his defending, he will be genuinely elite IMO.

If I can use another comparison, he's very much like Luke Shaw, who's another great technical player at left back. I think Hall could go further.

There's also a lack of natural left backs in the England squad, so the future is his if he wants it.

How old is he? 19?

Earlier on the season he gave it away very  cheaply and in very dangerous positions. Last few games that's gone. Great vision, great passing, I'd like to try him as a 10, maybe in a cup game against a Champo team.

Surprised there haven’t been more shouts to play him in midfield.

I think he'd be class in midfield but it would likely take 15 games for him to get to grips with it and we simply don't have that sort of time.

We also don't have a better left back option, so it's no bueno.

I think we all need to accept that as a young lad he's going to have the odd howler but I think his long term potential is worth it.
