Lewis Hall to miss rest of season with foot injury (Official)

Recommended Posts

Devastated for the lad himself as he's had such a good season overall & is maturing into such an impressive footballer. I'm quite relaxed about this for the final in that I think we'll put Tino on Salah and I think, 1v1, that's just about our best bet there if everyone is available. Obviously, that assumes we suffer no further injuries [emoji38]

The impact on the season outside of the final is more worrying though. Hall's talent on the ball is so critical for us.

Gutted. He doesn’t deserve and injury like this given the graft he’s put in to win that left back slot. Hopefully it isn’t something that plagues him long term.

That it was sustained against Liverpool is the ultimate kick in the nuts, like. Our whole left side gone in an instant.

MOTM performance against Liverpool's only truly huge threat as well.

At least we're firmly underdogs now, albeit I'm not at the stage of willingly giving up in a fucking cup final that others seem to be.

Feels like the season is teetering a bit.

It's reminiscent of the Sheff U game last season or around that time. Around that week Tonali gambling charge came out, Barnes & Botman got their season ending injuries. I think Isak got injured around that time too?

The season fell apart around that time even if we won that game by a landslide,

I take your point about Barnes and Botman, but we only lost one in next 9 after Sheff Utd. Beat Man City, PSG, Man Utd and Arsenal. Would take that again…

It was following Dortmund away that things went south, albeit we still managed some notable results (PSG away) but eventually it caught up with us through December.

And the Tonali news. All season ending. That was the cornerstone of our eventual injury crisis + Willock.

It’s nowhere near that, surely. Hall injury is awful but Gordon will be back in a couple of weeks.

This feels like a huge blow. Tino will cover adequately defensively, but it will leave us looking blunt on both sides of the pitch with Gordon out too.

Might be a bit unpopular opinion, but Matt Targett is anyways slightly better player than Hall. More solid defensively and is a better crosser of the ball.  So no worries. Been very impressed of Targett lately. Discuss.

I said in the Europe-ometer I think - having sold Almiron & that defender - we needed to have really good luck with injuries to get 5th.

Gordon is our second biggest attacking threat and he's missing the Cup Final. Liverpool have a great bench and we don't at our strongest. With the injuries we have, we have even less off the bench.

Gordon will miss 2 games we need a minimum of 4 points from.

Our form and belief is shakey.

A lot will depend on the injury news from Botman and Isak. IMO we need these lads fit pretty much every game from now til the end of the season.

Against West Ham we need Isak, we need Botman. We are bang average without them.

We are chasing in the league. We need 3 more points than Chelsea, 4 more than Forest and need to match Bournemouth & Brighton at least over the next 11 games. Our margin for error is slim. Every injury is a huge blow, let alone missing multiple games like Gordon or season-enders like Hall. Having the likes of Barnes & Trippier to bring off the bench was one of our power moves against our rivals. Having to start them and having less quality off the bench is a huge blow.

I dunno man. We needed luck and we haven't had it.
