He's doing very well for Juve now days so I'm happy for him, but Thiaw has looked a lot better than him that's for sure so it all worked out

oldtype
It’s crazy that Burn/Schar felt undroppable coming into the season and within two months those two may never be the first choice pairing again. Thiaw has acclimated ridiculously well.

Gallowgate Toon
Love his calmness in possession. Schar has unbelievable passes in his locker, with Thiaw it feels more consistent if not as explosive. Very impressive start here in all aspects. Schar didn't at first, it was when he was bedded in and knew the games/runs of his team mates. It may well come in time for Thiaw.

The College Dropout
It’s a bit early for ‘got ya’ moments. I wouldn’t discount Elanga for a slow start or bank Thiaw as brilliant now. But he’s been rock solid and has all the tools. Long may it continue.

Mutual, likewise, reciprocated The reason I said he had potential was because if Eddie Howe wastes good time and money looking for it - and he can see it's definitely not in Thiaw - Howe doesn't wanna be sued 'cos Thiaw hasn't got it. So joeyt's not gonna get me on that

Schar has unbelievable passes in his locker, with Thiaw it feels more consistent if not as explosive. Very impressive start here in all aspects. Schar has the cross-field diagonal in his locker but I feel like Thiaw sees the midfield/forward line breaking pass more often, and plays it. So far he’s showed a tendency to play a ‘round the corner’ pass into midfield when the ball is played to him quickly from the right and he’s under close pressure. The reason I came in here, though, was to highlight a pass he played through the forward and midfield line into Elanga on around 75 mins. 9 out of 10 CBs keep the ball moving right to Trippier, and then Trippier plays to Elanga when Forest have had time to move over. Thiaw sees it and plays it really sharply and accurately. It’s passing at least as good as Botman at his best. Absolutely loved to see it.
Ginola
He's been much better than I was expecting. Comfortable on the ball, good in the air, good pace... I think he'll get goals too. Says a lot that he seems to have already taken his chance to take Schars place who's been brilliant the last couple of years
Toon No9
Didn't put a foot wrong today. Starting to build a good partnership with Botman who also was very good today.
