€20m seems a bit low?

He's a bit shit, 22 and never going to play any serious minutes for us. If there's a small profit to be made, and an option to bring back incase he suddenly kicks on, then we have to gobble it up.

Sell for €20m and stick a buy back clause for €40m on the off chance that he looks like a top 6 squad player one day.

Doesn’t look like he’ll make it at the top level, flip him and make a solid profit.  This is what the ‘big six’ have been doing for years and it bolsters their revenues.  If we get 20m+ for him - especially with a buy back clause - it’s cracking business.

It is, aye.

We need to be doing more of this.

I can’t see him cutting it at the top level either.

Sell.

Yeah sell. He's probably fourth choice CF with Wissa back as Howe will play Gordon there ahead of him, so he's basically just a wildcard wide player.

He'd have gone in the summer IMO if the striker situation had got sorted earlier than deadline day.

I'm fine with this, it's a good deal for all parties. I've long argued that we need to be more ruthless with transfers ans we can't just keep sub par players hanging around cause they're nice guys so I can't complain if someone is offering decent money for a bit part player who isn't going to get the minutes he needs to flourish. He's only a year younger than Woltemade, he needs to be playing week in week out.

However, in a situation like this, I hope there's scope to add in a buy back clause in case he hits it off, Frankfurt usually know what they're doing with Strikers!

I wouldn't sell him for that price, I'd just loan him out and see how he gets on. We bought him for £10M and Sheffield United have a sell on clause too.

+ 5 million add ons reported at the time.

Considering how messed up the striker market is, if he turns semi decent doesn't really make sense to bank what £10m profit on him? He could easily be a late bloomer and turn into a decent EPL striker at 24-25

So we keep hold of him for another 24 months in hope he develops elsewhere on loan? All it takes is for that loan moan to be a bad one, and any future sale is permanently gone.

At 22, no clubs keep hold of players at this age. They’re either part of first team squad or sold, because the last remaining value is there.

I didn't realise footballers stop functioning past the age of 22.

Arsenal sold Nketiah/Ramsdale/Smith-Rowe for a very decent profit all in their mid 20s.

We don't have to rush to a decision - we hold the cards and aren't in a Anderson/Minteh situation

Ironically if arsenal had sold ESR at the age of 22 the fee would have been much higher
