The club basically haven’t been willing to take a load of £20m punts a la Brighton. The strategy has been pay more for reduced risk. Elanga is low risk in a way some of the other players mentioned aren’t They were risks man. Isak scored 6 league goals the season before. Every signing is a risk. Especially foreign ones. Especially foreign ones for big money. Especially foreign ones coming from Serie A. Especially foreign ones who kinda flopped in their last season abroad. I would say Kvara was a low risk signing. Did it consistently for some seasons and in the CL - actually a fairly low fee. Isak was not low risk and neither was Sandro - as we found out. duo Posted Friday at 22:53 Share Posted Friday at 22:53 Just can't see it myself - we have to shop in different markets i.e. European Leagues - PL prices are inflated.
The Prophet Posted Friday at 22:54 Share Posted Friday at 22:54 His pace and ability to deliver the ball off both feet gives him an extra dimension to Murphy. We don't need to reinvevt the wheel in the forward line.

No, I've said I've seen nothing apart from gobshite reporters spouting their usual clickbait. You want to believe that go for it. At the end of the day I'll wait to see who comes through the door. The College Dropout Posted Friday at 22:57 Share Posted Friday at 22:57 Some of it you can contribute to being Forest’s style. And football is not played on paper. But as fans who would you rank out of these 3 to get: The criticism is fair.
junkhead Posted Friday at 22:59 Share Posted Friday at 22:59 Akliouche is a genius footballer, he has finesse, vision, touch.. it's stupid to compare him to a limited, direct (dare I say old-school) winger like Elanga - even just how they look dribbling the ball, it's like they play different sports. Full support if we get him like, he can be effective but.. yeah.. no need to repeat myself.. I basically DEMAND A NEW BEN ARFA and won't calm down Eddie buys one! It'll be a long summer. r0cafella Posted Friday at 23:03 Share Posted Friday at 23:03 (edited) Can see why Mitchell ran now Jokes aside, he's obviously a good player, but he won't come cheap and as others have mentioned im not sure he's going to be cracking those packed defenses which is something we do suck at. Probably too one footed and a bit slow for what Howe is looking for, but a lovely footballer for sure. Edited Friday at 23:11 by The Prophet
andycap Posted Friday at 23:43 Share Posted Friday at 23:43 Everybody we seem to be linked with has a massive Premier league premium around there necks that we cannot continue to deal in. Got to go to a cheaper market in my opinion and do our majority of our recruitment.
jcat Posted yesterday at 00:00 Share Posted yesterday at 00:00 I’d say for this window we don’t really want to be taking risks and probably need to go for the more expensive solid/reliable picks for RW/CB. We then have a pretty strong team/squad which gives us the base to look at more risky (cheaper) signings in future windows.
elbee909 Posted yesterday at 00:04 Share Posted yesterday at 00:04 I wish I had a quid for when people suggest going to a cheaper market and buying from abroad, as if that's some kind of answer. The good players are expensive wherever these days.
Stottie Posted yesterday at 00:24 Share Posted yesterday at 00:24 He's clearly pretty good. How good I can't say, because Forest scored first more than anyone and seemed to spend the remainder of the 90 minutes defending for a 1-0. This will wreck any attacker's stats. NUFC 20 wins, 12 by two or more goals. Forest 19 wins, 7 by two or more goals. In this situation, you have to rely on the eye test. Aside from their games against us, the one game I saw where they did fall behind early, against Villa, they played really well, really threatening, and were unlucky to not draw level. Zero Posted yesterday at 00:47 Share Posted yesterday at 00:47 I genuinely won’t believe that Nickson failed to find anyone from foreign leagues after 2 years of work, especially given his past record since the takeover. Our best players (Botman, Bruno, Tonali, Isak) are all from foreign leagues.
Geordie Ahmed Posted yesterday at 01:19 Share Posted yesterday at 01:19 Elanga is a good player and for the right price would be a low risk signing In terms of slotting into our system/team I think it would be quite seamless for Elanga My preference though was to get a more technical player, someone that is very comfortable in possession and that can pass to a high standard, currently the standard of passing from our wide players is poor and signing Elanga doesn't change that Still, ultimately I'll operate on the basis I fully trust Howe since he's more than earned it

toontownman
We know,, given the chance, Eddie likes to go premier league experience. Im sure whomever we get Eddie will do great with but there seems to be so many options for cheaper abroad
Jewel
How much is the sell-on clause Man Utd have for Elanga? I'm loathe to give those cunts any money. For that reason alone, we should look elsewhere.
Optimistic Nut
7 hours ago, SteV said: Another point to consider is he appears to be on pretty low wages (by PL standards) so giving him a sizeable increase wouldn’t be much of a problem. He'd likely be on around £90k-100k here? Transfer fee about £10m less that what Mbuemo would cost and about half his wage.
