Lad needs an arm around him, but there's always a few that love to get stuck in. If it wasn't Elanga, it'd be Miley, Barnes or Gordon. I can't get my head round it.

It was interesting when Schar score and they all celebrated in the corner, Gordon was there and specifically celebrated with Elanga and was giving him a talk, which felt like words of “You’re doing the right things, keep it going”.

Think Gordon might be the one in the squad who has the arm around Elanga to coach him on the mental side.

We’re so quick to dog-pile on a player when he’s having a tough time. He hasn’t been nearly as bad as people are making out; I thought he did fine yesterday, and he’ll only improve.

The missing the simple passes is definitely indicative of a lack of confidence but you could see him getting into good positions yesterday. As he gets more confident he’ll take players on more and his crossing will improve. His pace alone helps change games because it causes panic in a side. It’s a just a case of building his confidence up and coaching and Howe will be ideal for that.

Agreed, he’s really not been helped by the other new signings bedding in so quickly, which makes him look relatively poor (so far).

Feel sorry for the amount of stick he gets at the match. He literally takes his first touch and people are telling him what to do before he's even moved

Looked tentative again, some bad passes because he was scared of making a mistake. But also a couple of good runs.

I didn't watch him in detail at Forest so I don't know how he had joy before, but I don't know if his impact is going to be by dribbling past people or not. Doesn't seem like he really has that in him, so fans might need to stop asking for it.

People just always want someone to piss and moan about. They're not happy unless there's a player in our own side that's being singled out for criticism, it gives the negative twats a stiffy.

He's not been great, he's not been shite. He's putting the effort in and it's early days. He was getting plenty of positive support from his teammates on the pitch last night and also some detailed on-field tactical instructions from the senior players that cameras might not have picked up on.

And the way to make a player better is not for the home crowd to get on their backs. I know that for sure.

If he's unable to dribble past players I'm not sure why we've bought him for so much money?

His passing into midfield was woeful yesterday and previous games

Hoping it will click for him but so far he's been really disappointing think

It's just not happening for him, but he's got plenty to be excited about. Once he gets his goal (and he will), he'll be cracking. His crossing was really poor yesterday but the hunger was there and his head never dropped despite nothing coming off for him.

I'm not sure he got past Spence once yesterday

Very tough player to beat down the line, he did win a couple of corners from him. I think he cut in once very nicely and his cut back to Barnes’ bar shot was quality. Standard poor passing and a few arguments between him and Willock aside, I thought he looked a bit brighter than he has

You have to remember, we have more than our fair share of halfwits in our fanbase who love to write players off after a few games or want to sell a player when they dip in form.

Some of them even call themselves "supporters" when that statement couldn't be further from the truth really, could it?

Negative fuckers.

Gordon needs to give himself a talk while he's at it, been terrible for a really long time now

NOL theory crafting why our other speed merchant with poor technical attributes is struggling, gotta laugh

I think Elangas performances are fair game for criticism.

Theres been some really decent stuff from him but theres also been some awful basic stuff from him too.

Remember what Jacob Murphy was like at his age? Elanga has loads to work with. Come back in 18 month and I suspect he will be an absolute beast to deal with.

18 months?

are we talking about Lewis Miley or someone with over 100 appearances in the prem?

Gordon has looked really bright his last few games and is at least contributing in goals, assists and moments.

Welcome to football. I'll take you through how it works.

New players, at new clubs, with new systems and new teammates, take time to adjust to their surroundings. If you think we bought Elanga as a finished product, then you haven't been paying attention.

Hes not been as good as any of us thought he would be... but that doesn't determine his future.

this is a bold faced lie and illustrates how the passion merchant bs may deceive some fans

the bright Gordon has contributed a grand total of zero prem goals or assists in the calendar year of 2025

let's have some standards please

I think this forum should have standards and you should be booted in the sun. How's that for standards?
