Not for that money. It's well known that we tried to transition away to the DOF taking charge of signings but then Mitchell clashed badly with Howe. PIF backed Howe at the end of the day, so here we are. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. There’s usually a committee with veto powers. Howe shouldn’t have players forced on him. Likewise he shouldn’t be able to sign any player he alone fancies. He seemed to work ok with Ashworth for new signings. They had some tension about Joenlintons contract but tension is fine and healthy. The Joelinton decision was always going to have pros and cons. This current spell of their pressure is because he just made a shocking pass. He also keeps getting in the way of teammates. Baffling. And I really want him to be huge for us. I do actually think he’ll improve with Howe’s coaching though (I mean he can’t get any worse ffs). He’s clearly got zero confidence currently and is just trying to hard as he’ll be desperate to get some form going. He really could do with a goal for confidence but I just don’t see how he helps us break down a defence for example. He may benefit from Wissa coming back, we’ll see I guess.
