He's definitely been better than most of his appearances (that run where Danso fouled him was exactly what we bought him for) but he's played several sloppy balls inside straight to an opposition shirt again.

 

FYI I do think there's something in the confidence thing but was more making a point that his general skill with the ball level looks way short of what we all expected/hoped so far.

He looks like our worst forward player, totally shit in the final third and dosn't help out the defence as much as others.

 

At some point he was chasing that Simons kid and he just stopped and let him have a free shot at our goal at a crucial time.

He, needs an arm round him, everything he does looks hesitant or lacks conviction. He'll get there, but he's struggling at the moment.

I wonder how much of a character profile was done on the lad, the poor sod looks like he’s wilting under the pressure of a big money move tbh.  Hopefully Howe and co. can get the proverbial arm around him and get the lad’s head up.

He is a bit Joe Willock’y in his decisions. Does some really good stuff. Followed by a brain fart or just doesn’t make a decision and then gets caught in possession. 
 

I thought there was some promising signs and he was up against an elite defender in Spence. But he seems to be playing within himself and looks unsure and nervy. 
 

Needs a goal/assist to settle him down.

His pressing was good though, that might have contributed to the result more than was apparent.

tried really hard on and off the ball but he needs an awful lot of work technically and tactically.
