He isn’t very good.

But I do think many are gasping to pounce on the first mistake he makes in games, mind. Both in the ground and on here.

He had a pass well intercepted near the end and the crowd went mental. Also played one back to Tonali, which I thought was totally fine. As had a man behind him and one blocking the pass on the turn. Crowd went ape shit, again.

It certainly can’t help. He looks shot to bits.

A team that isn't good with the ball and doesn't press as intensely as past seasons.

Agree and it's not a good spot for him to be in, clearly a confidence player and he has none. Will only get worked out on the training ground and gradually in games and he's gonna have to knuckle down and try to improve somehow, nobody is giving us our money back

He plays quite a few passes that look like they're great but the player they're going to doesn't react in the same fashion and it gets cut out or goes past them or whatever and it ends in groans from the crowd. It's depressing as fuck to hear on the TV and then read about on here.

Think last summer’s business won’t be remembered fondly in years to come.

Sort of similar to when Spurs sold Bale. Thiaw looks canny and Woltemade has his moments, but £150m + for the rest really irks me given we’re completely handcuffed by PSR.

Wissa may come good and it’s far too early to write him off, but £55m is still ridiculous. Yes desperately scrambling at the end of the window but also desperately stupid.

Ramsey I like but I’m still not sure what he brings to the table. Still, £43m for a player that might be better than Willock. He’s certainly not the type of midfielder we needed.

Elanga I have no words really. Tried to give him benefit of doubt and time but he just looks completely lost out there. Wrong player completely for what we needed and telling that he’s seemingly 4th choice despite being signed for £55m 7 months ago.

As fast as Elanga is, the fucker doesn't press at all.

As slow as Nick is, he presses ffs

What’s annoying with Elanga was that he actually looked fine for his first few games but a lot of fans seemed eager to get on his back.

His confidence is absolute rock bottom now and he really is playing badly now

we need to be much much better at keeping the ball before calling ourselves a possession side. We are consistently not good at it. We need more players with good technical ability who can pass and dribble, like Lewis Hall

How was it desperately stupid to want a striker who'd scored loads of PL goals the previous season? Those were the exact credentials we needed to replace Isak. Sounds like you are writing him off.

It was desperately stupid to pay £55m for him yes.

I’ve said on here before I think he’s decent, but not £55m decent. Nowhere near.

14 assists last year

We need to find out what he was doing and just let him focus on that for now

I think having Wood in the box for his crosses helped massively and also having him win duels for him to feed off.

Yeah .. and if thats what's needed we need to play that way.

Otherwise we have bought a player with a new striker in mind and then got a one who can't link up the same way wood did

Maybe I remembered it wrong but Elanga was signed before Isak started being a cunt so Elanga would have had someone who could take advantage of his crosses.

I think Elanga will get his confidence back and will be a threat soon.

You clearly never watched Paul Moran, Billy Askew, Mark Stimson or Rob McDonald then

Or Alan Shitth, Andy Faye, Xisco, Riviere or Jack Cuntback

He's the worst player I've ever seen play for Newcastle (30 years) and I've seen some absolute dross.

You can’t have watched many games in those 30 years then.

Do you remember Nacho ? Xisco ? Disco Des ? Marcelinho ? Guivarch ?

And that’s just some of the shite I can recall, there’s absolutely fucking loads more.

He was part of a low block who counter attacked to a massive target man in a purple patch.

its not that difficult, he was never what we needed.

I was hoping that the days of signing guys like this were over! An absolute diddy. Who the fuck sanctioned spending 55m on this guy, he's not suited to the way we play
