Any previous season and I’m confident it’d have been converted by Wilson or cunt. Having no striker is absolutely killing us and has done all season. It affects the confidence of the whole team. Also true.
kenlau88210
he is so frustating to watch. great athlete but not so good as a footballer. Just watched the highlights again at around 15 minutes 1st half Ramsey played him through and as good of an athlete as he is, he took so long to get into his strides. First touch is often what separates a decent player from a really good one. Isak is not as fast as him obviously, but give him that kind of chance he will almost certainly score. Ikon
Apart from his more obvious weaknesses such as lack of technical ability, Poor balance/top heavy with not much agility at all. One thing that stands out to me that isn’t talked about as much is how poor his anticipation is. Quite often you see him not even trying to run properly until the pass to him has been played. He’s so slow to react/read the play that the opposition more often than not has an advantage defending against him. It’s the same thing off the ball running into space. Just one example, I think it was after Hall’s solo run up the left flank where the ball got into space in the penalty area and you could see how slow he was to react. He didn’t anticipate that the ball was gonna end up there and didn’t start moving into space until the ball was there and it was too late. I would never have spent even near the amount of money we did for such a limited player. But sorting out his lack of anticipation would go a long way to get him more effective. This is an attribute that doesn’t even require your confidence to be at the very best. This is also why he often doesn’t look that quick as he potentially can/should be. Rich
Started the game like a flaming bag of turd but love the confidence he’s shown since he bagged his TWO. That move he started from the right-back position and was involved with throughout was unreal.
Ben
He's one of those players that are much better when he doesn't have time to think.

stozo
This will be a controversial view around here - but maybe Eddie Howe knows what he is doing? If he can score twice against Barcelona, then I'm very hopeful over time we're going to see a lot more from Elanga.
Beren
Feel bad for the lad. Can't even brag about scoring a brace in the CL at Camp Nou to his grandkids one day. "Oh aye what was the final score?" "Nvm"
timeEd32
Very happy for him and will do a world of good for his confidence. The problem is Barcelona's high line is a dream situation for what he's good at. I'm not going to feel like he's fully arrived until he shows he can make something happen in games where we see a lot more of the ball.
Aiston
Hopefully can build on those two goals and end the season well.

Moose
Delighted for him, he took his goals really well. You're still thinking about the bad news aren't you?
Alberto2005
Fair play on the goals, I still think he's technically really poor and not sure how we'll ever resolve that.

Virtua Stiva
I thought Murphy may start on Sunday if Sunderland are going to sit in but would be harsh to drop him
Lush Vlad
Hope he can kick on now. But it is telling that his three best performances have come against Barca and their suicidal high line. It’s a shame we couldn’t get him involved even more or stay in the game long enough to cause them bother second half. Game was done after 51 minutes. Lush Vlad
I thought he started terribly. Then from the first goal onwards he was great. Again, I’m not counting the second half and grading any of our players for that
