Got into good positions, but you don't have any sense of threat or danger from him once he dashed down that wing.

Not too surprising Barnes stayed on, as he was more out of the game but we know he can be a threat from very little, and then Murphy finally produced the assist.

He's now at the point we hoped he would be at the beginning of his time here. Very dangerous today, but still lacking a bit of confidence with his final deliveries. Next season will be a vast improvement.

I believe in the potential of a confident Elanga.

Am I gonna be furious about a ball he plays in a few days? Yep. But fucking game, son.

his game is gradually improving, his decision making suggests his confidence is building. But that one where he should have played Barnes in and he took an extra touch, ah man

I do believe in the lad and I'm desperate for it to work for him. Funny game tonight; thought he terrified the full-back just as he did against Man Utd, but it was incredibly telling that Murphy came on and delivered an inch perfect cross for a goal.

He just needs to keep improving; this can't be his upper limit.

If he was from the academy, or signed for cheap, or 21 instead of trluening 24 next month, I'd be extremely encouraged. As things stand, I'm pleased he's shown how he can be useful, but it's still a horrible allocation of transfer funds. He'll continue to be important in these kinds of matches, especially in he can refine his end product in any way.

Still very much Adama Traore. His pace makes him look a better player than he actually is.

Murphy came on and changed the game by putting the best ball in the box we’ve seen all night, in an instant.

Combine the two players somehow and you’d have a cracking player but individually they are nowhere near what we need.

Kind of better tonight and used his pace better than any game I've seen, but the two chances he had to cross it where we'd have probably scored if he got it right he completely fucked up.

Sadly don't think he's got the brain or the technique to be anything other than a frustrating player for us.

Thought he had a good game overall.

There are times where he beats his man but then gets surrounded by another 3 defenders because nobody is near him. That can be frustrating but it's not just on him.

IMO he's been improving for a few games now.

He's done ok tonight. You just get that feeling though when he gets the ball nothing really much is about to happen. He did put a couple of good balls over in the 1st half mind. Although he probably looked better than Barnes you can understand why he came off and Barnes stayed on. Ultimately Murphy has replaced him for 25 minutes and set up Barnes for the goal.

I liked that version of him last night. He used his pace and just put the ball into an area early. It doesn’t have to be perfect but made them have to deal with it. If he continues like that he’ll be alright.

Can someone confirm if he’s still the worst player to ever play for NUFC in the entire history of the club ?

Asking for a friend.

Nope, not sure he would enter top 10, top of my mind: Riviere, Paul Dalglish, Cacapa, guivarch, boumsong, Amalfitano(bought the wrong brother), ferrerya, xisco, doumbia +++
